raProject 0.2 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't overthink a to-do list

I'm liking it as a to-do list with priorities. It's simple, it's very easy, and it's the right price (after all, who's going to pay for a to-do list manager?). some suggestions: - Word wrap on the right hand pane - Is 0 top priority or 5? I think 1 is. - Labels/coloured projects to differentiate would be nice - auto complete/select of existing projects as you type them in a new item window would be a time saver - the icons are a little small and not massively intuitive. I'd love to have a crack at designing some if you like - mattATstanford.id.au if you want - Are there different views? If not, why is Navigation View tabbed? Looks like there should be options. Overall, yes, I rate raProject, but it's definitely beta. [alert admin]

iTunes Album Playlist Creator 3.3 (Mac OS X)

Works, but why?

I can't think of why you'd WANT a billion playlists, one for each album, when: - it's easy enough to select individual albums in both iTunes and on an iPod - the whole philosophy behind iTunes is to make your own playlists, rather than those that come with the record BUT This does a great, clean and painless job of making those one billion playlists, so you have to rate it really. It might be helpful if there was some control over merging playlists - some kind of smart playlist arguments [alert admin]

Vienna 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Boxy, but good.

Like a volvo. Not the sexiest looking thing out there, but it opens links in tabs (be nice if there were buttons to navigate from there) OR you can send the link to your browser. I'm really pleased with it; it just seems to work nice and do what I want. Lots of updates? Bring it on, way better than a developer who doesn't do anything. And for the price... ! [alert admin]

Butler 4.0b29 (Mac OS X)

Butler rocks

WAS using Quicksilver (which I rate) and Sizzling Keys (yellow mug software = itunes controller (FREE)) - but this does the same as both plus is more stable on my system than Quicksilver. I can't fault this thing, it's super, and revolutionises the way I work. Thanks so much. [alert admin]

Eightgr Winter Abstract Screensaver 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Pictures only

Abstract images using the standard pan/zoom controls. Reasonable but hard to tell without screen grabs here! [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 5.0 (Mac OS X)

Quit SizzlingKeys

On running the installer, I was getting an error message box - "Quit iTunes before beginning installation" (or something like that) - but I HAD quit iTunes... Only once I stopped SizzlingKeys did the installer acknowledge that iTunes wasn't running. I assume there's a background process that SizzlingKeys IDs as iTunes. Cheers [alert admin]

Hypertorus 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Way cool

Set it on transperant and marvel; very groovy. I have two monitors and have put Appearance on Random; so I can get a 'solid' torus on one monitor, and a strappy or wireframe on the other - but both monitors reflect the shape shape, contorsions and perspective of the wobbly thing; which is pretty cool. And the price is right too. Ta! [alert admin]

FireStarter FX 1.0b6 (Mac OS X)

Jake10!

that would be a .dmg that your browser has read as text - let that page finish loading and then 'save page as' a .dmg and voila! You should be able to double click the resulting file and have it mount a drive on your desktop. -- it is not even downloading! jake10 Version: 1.0b5b, 11/28/2003 05:37AM PST I tried to download this software, the trouble is, whenever i click on download, it does not go to the download manager. It just gives me a new webpage with all the "gobble d goonks" (symbols and attributes that only developers and martians understand). -- [alert admin]

No Updates?....

Update from within Photoshop didn't list it, but went ahead and updated Photoshop anyway! Very strange. Weird also for Adobe to send a .doc read me with the standalone updater; all looked a bit suss, so I went with the internal option, worked fine.

miles?? gallons??

OK, this preference DOES exist, I was wrong. Units by default are "English" (with a choice for "Metric") which are easy to misread as being "language" - suggest you make that "Imperial"?
