Adobe Reader 9.1.3 (Mac OS X)
When I have any PDF file open and push the 'print' icon, Reader hangs at the print dialogue box, and I have to force-quit. However, using the keyboard shortcut apple-p and hitting return prints no problem. [alert admin]

GetDilbert 1.8 (Mac OS X)
The Download link is to the old 1.7.1 version - go to developer's site to get v1.8. Now GetDilbert is working again, suddenly all is right with the world once more! [alert admin]

Pacifist 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
Pacifist has saved my ass many a time, offering piecemeal recovery from screwed up installs or corruption issues rather than wholesale system reinstallation. Pay the fee - it's an essential for your Mac toolbox! [alert admin]

Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (Mac OS X)
Has anyone got it to print under Leopard?
Has anyone got Reader to print PDFs with Leopard 10.5.1 at all? I've still not been able to either with the internal update or a full install of Reader on iMac G5, 10.5.1. [alert admin]

Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (Mac OS X)
Update still doesn't fix printing ![]()

After over three (3) months of waiting, the Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 release (updater or clean installer) still doesn't fix the basic but critical issue of not being able to print under Leopard. Unbelievable! I can only hope for Adobe's sake that the Acrobat CS3 update (when it comes) will work. Adobe have dropped the ball with one of their core technologies that has become ubiquitous worldwide. Thank Jobs for Preview! [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 7.4.2 (Mac OS X)
Doesn't resolve ATV synching issues
With iTunes 7.3.2, I set my playlists in the Music tab, it synched with my ATV, and all was good. Since the release of iTunes 7.4.2, which as I understand was more to do with iPhones (not due to this part of the globe for another year or so), my playlist selection for synching, and indeed the expanded ATV content listing in iTunes bears no resemblance to each other. It just syncs my entire Library regardless of setting. I reverted back to 7.3.2 yesterday and all was well again. I tried 7.4.2 today, and all is stuffed again. Go figure! And yes, I've factory restored my ATV, wiped, cleaned, updated, permissioned, cached, rebooted...but the facts remain. Not happy. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 7.4.1 (Mac OS X)
I don't give a --------- about disabling ringtones for a phone that'll not be in these parts for another year..I just want to be able to synch with the Apple TV that I do have without having to reboot it to recognise an updated playlist... Not Happy. [alert admin]

CUPS-PDF 2.4.6 (Mac OS X)
Can anyone detail use with non-standard CUPS?
If anyone out there has managed to get this to work with a CUPS.org install of CUPS (as opposed to the Apple standard CUPS install, which does work with this), could they please post instructions for the rest of us. The developer's website says manually install this and that...but that doesn't help much! [alert admin]

Memtest 4.21 (Mac OS X)
What you need to understand...
Whilst this is a really useful troubleshooting tool, the developer has decided to charge for each download - so technically this is not shareware, but a commercial product, but with no update provision. The developer indicated to me in an email that it was 'all too hard to do it any other way' when I queried this. Strange, but true. So, even if you have paid the 1.39 charge to download a previous version, if you wish to download the latest version you must pay again, regardless of whether it is a major or minor update. When you 'purchase' the software you are given an expiring URL to your download. If you need to redownload there is that option to request a new URL, but this is just for the version previously downloaded, not the latest version. You get a password protected .dmg which you unlock with a password provided with the URL email. Whilst I'm not sure that you can produce a demo of a CLI software, I would have thought the password-protected .dmg would be sufficient to allow paying supporters of the product to stay current with bug fixes etc, rather than have to pay each and every time - otherwise what incentive is there to support the developer? This needs to be made clear. [alert admin]

.gif images STILL freeze/lock up Safari..
Works OK for me, too. Takes a while to load (I have a slow internet connection), and when scrolling up and down it can seem like it hangs with beachball, but after a little while it comes back good again. I'll grant you Firefox is more responsive under the same circumstances.

.gif images STILL freeze/lock up Safari..
Perhaps you could post an example URL, as I've not found animated gifs to be a problem - I just visited a whole page of them to be sure, without issue.

Infinite loading spinning weel
I experienced the same, until I uninstalled Safari AdBlock. Now all pages complete loading. Given that this release affects third-party plugins, I would suggest uninstalling any you have loaded to see which cause the problem, then await an update from the developer.

Has anyone got it to print under Leopard?
Printing to a Fuji Xerox DocuPrint 204A. All other apps besides Reader print to it OK. Reader will print to it from an Intel 10.5.1 installation with Reader 8.1.2 i386 (it didn't before). The printer is a rebadged Brother HL-1240 so I'm using the Brother HL-1240 CUPS driver as the 'original' FX driver doesn't work under Leopard. Reader 8.1.2 also prints fine on Tiger 10.4.11 with FX driver.

Has anyone got it to print under Leopard?
I should add at least under PPC. A clean install of Reader 8.1.2 on an Intel Mac mini 10.5.1 works as expected, but I can't get it to work on my iMac G5 PPC 10.5.1 installation...

Perhaps this is why? "We are no longer providing binaries for Mac OS X since CUPS 1.3.x is not fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.x. You can compile and install CUPS 1.3.x from source, however most of the GUI administration tools provided in Mac OS X will no longer work."...http://www.cups.org/software.php?VERSION=1.3.0
