Sorenson Squeeze 5.0.4.6 (Mac OS X)

Squeeze 5.0.4 email help is excellent!

Squeeze 5.0.4 is an excellent Mac product with a few caveats. The earlier Squeeze Compression 3 Pro was intuitive although a bit slow, whereas this update takes a bit more time to understand. However their email help is excellent, I must say. Also, the Help menu function [ so far ] doesn't work but rather you have to go into the application's directory folder to actually get to the Adobe Reader Squeeze Help. Once you have opened up the Squeeze Help with Adobe Reader, it's more about Quick Keys and shortcuts as I remember than about a quick and intuitive set of instructions in order to get Squeeze up and running. However, once up and running, Squeeze 5.0.4 is super fast, works beautifully, and, to repeat, their email feedback help is truly excellent. Best of everything to the folks at Squeeze! Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com, Relativity Calculator, www.relativitycalculator.com PS: Squeeze 5.0.4 with their On2 VP6 codec plugin does excellent, excellent quality outputs,at tremendously fast speeds, and cuts down the "meg weight" to about half (1/2) of what the earlier Squeeze Compression 3 Pro accomplished. Prism Video Converter 1.23 (Mac OS X)

Get it!! Excellent Mac product!

I first looked up under 'swf to mov converter' but what I found was crap. One web site was confusing to the maximum as to what they offered in addition to their understatement on Version Tracker as to their actual price. Then by doing a Google search I came upon Prism. What a relief! What an excellent Mac product! It's simply intuitive without any real need for instructions. It does excellently swf to mov for what in the near future I will be doing for my Relativity Calculator [ www.relativitycalculator.com ] in converting some of the swfs to movs for inclusion in Adobe's Acrobat Pro for making pdfs. Their initial offering of Prism is free but it's so reasonable that I got the Prism Video Format Converter (Plus MPEG2 Edition) and am happy to have done so! Now, my question to Version Tracker is why isn't Prism listed under 'swf to mov converter' or 'swf to video converter'? Huh?? I am also forwarding this feedback note back to Prism folks. Best of everything to them for a terrific Mac PPC and Intel product!! Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com, Relativity Calculator, www.relativitycalculator.com [alert admin]

Web Snapper 2.3.2 (Mac OS X)

Web Snapper and Relativity Calculator web site

All day today I've been looking for some software which could capture pages of my web site Relativity Calculator [ www.relativitycalculator.com ] in either png, jpg or pdf. I have Snapz Pro 2.1.2 which is good for video and capturing part of the screen and I also tried Adobe Acrobat Professional version 7.1.0 which is good in keeping links available; however, Acrobat Professional did not export to png nor to jpg and besides the visual image in pdf was nothing compared to Web Snapper. Maybe the latest Acrobat Professional 9.0 will be an improvement, still I am extremely impressed with Web Snapper. Really! It is fast, it is convenient, it allows for a Safari button to speed up the capture process for an entire page. For those who complain that it captures an entire page and this may require a bit of Photoshop cropping, I say good and well to this capability. Better to capture the entire web page and then do cropping rather than having to estimate what amount of page length to first capture as some of these other softwares require with much time and energy expended in this effort. I also used Web Snapper on another rather complicated page of mine, http://www.relativitycalculator.com/energy_doppler.shtml, and it did so marvelously. I will now also both purchase Web Snapper as well as forward this posting directly to the folks at Web Snapper. Best of everything, Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com PS: Web Snapper did not do so well in pdf capture but this is just about similar to Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.1.0 as I've already stated for this software. File Buddy 9.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Best damn Mac software ever!!

I have been using File Buddy since before version 7, specially version 6, and have found it to be indispensible. It has always been stable, fast, and completely accurate for discovering hidden files in addition to the visible ones. For example, when discarding some unusable or junky recent download which occasionally happens, File Buddy will not only allow you trash the visible resource but also its hidden cousins, so to speak, which then frees up your hard disk space. It further does cleaning of your duplicate files, hidden files and orphan files as well as erasing empty hard drive space so that your operating system runs much more smoothly. Finally, Larry Harris, maker of File Buddy, answers very, very promptly any and all queries which makes for enormous confidence in his Mac software abilities in addition to this marvelous File Buddy!! Keep up the great Macintosh work, Larry! Don. Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com, Relativity Calculator, www.relativitycalculator.com. [alert admin]

SunriseBrowser 1.3.5 (Mac OS X)

Developer's Source Code does not work for latest XCode 2.4.1

I have twice emailed the folks at Sunrise browser about the fact that their source code failed for version 1.3.4 and now for 1.3.5 with 1 error, 5 warnings using the latest 2.4.1 XCode. It is true also that this browser is extremely fast, especially when testing my web site, Relativity Calculator [ www.relativitycalculator.com ], but to say that their source code works for developers is definitely not correct. I am using latest XCode 2.4.1 on my dual - 2.5 gig G5 Mac with MacOS X 10.4.9 and have optimized the directory with DiskWarrior but to no avail. I would still nevertheless recommend Sunrise browser as it holds some future promise as an extremely fast Mac browser. Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com [alert admin]

DMG Designs 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)

DMG Designs - excellent, excellent, excellent!

I have tried DMGDrop and it is a good product. However, DMG Designs is excellent, excellent, excellent for both creating a background image for the opened mounted volume as well as for imprinting an image onto the mounted volume itself. Did I mention that DMG Designs is intuitive and is exceedingly easy to understand at the outset, although its Help menu is also well presented? There is one thing which DMGDrop does slightly better than DMG Designs and that is to create the .icns file from any other given .jpg, .png, etc. image without having to go to IconComposer. But this is a slight matter as it does everything else excellently, excellently, excellently. By the way, all of this effort at creating a Mac application is intended to be a companion to the web site, Relativity Calculator, www.relativitycalculator.com. Best regards to all the folks at DMG Designs, Don Saar, drdonzi@crocker.com. [alert admin]

DropDMG 2.7.9 (Mac OS X)

DropDMG - excellent, excellent Mac software!!

DropDMG is an excellent, excellent Mac software!! Additionally, the Help menu and its formidable instruction set is excellent and extremely helpful, not to use a pun. I tested out several other dmg-makers for my Relativity Calculator Mac software which is still a work-in-progress, and the only other one which even came close was EasyDMG but I was still inclined to buy DropDMG because of its formidable capabilities! Besides, its $20 price is very, very reasonable so I therefore have absolutely no complaint about this price. Web Site Maestro 5.4.2 (Mac OS X)

Web Site Maestro Pro - 5.4.2

Web Site Maestro Pro - 5.4.2's creator, Ton Brand, has created a truly wonderful Mac software! I had been a user of earlier versions some time ago but went away from it for a while, but now that Ton has come out with this version 5.4.2 I promise to stay with it for as long as I continue with my Relativity Calculator web site. Oh, because I had used an earlier version of Web Site Maestro Pro 4.x, I needed some help and advice which Ton readily and immediately gave and for which I am enormously grateful. I will give Ton and Web Site Maestro Pro 5.4.2 the highest rating possible. Thanks for listening, Don Saar, contact@relativitycalculator.com, www.relativitycalculator.com [alert admin]

LinkAssistant 2.4.4 (Mac OS X)

Link Assistant for Relativity Calculator web site

Link Assistant 2.4.4 is by far and away one of the most superior link-finding softwares I have ever used. I used LinkMachine with the same keyword(s) of 'special' and 'relativity' for my web site www.relativitycalculator.com but only turned up about 5 links one of which I did use. Link Assitant 2.4.4 on the other hand turned up 1430 link possibilites of which I have used numerous for Relativity Calculator web site!! Best of regards to the folks at Link Assistant [ http://www.link-assistant.com/ ]! Don Saar, contact@relativitycalculator.com [alert admin]

This product is flawed

My experience is that it is not possible to import an external public key which is vital to fully utilize PGP. In fact after having looked up in PGP Corp. help area as to how to precisely accomplish this which simply amounts to a simple "drag and drop" into "keys area", I continually get " No PGP Data - Nothing was found to import in the items provided". But this is not the worst of…

Asiva Apply/Correct - Follow up

Dear Sirs, I apologize but the company finally did come thru with the correct serial # exactly just before I was going to my bank to file a "provisional credit" claim for a non-performing product which by virtue of a lack of a correct serial # this product was indeed non-performing. Further, Asiva offered to give me any other Photoshop plugin gratis which I took them up on but have not yet received. Maybe never?…
