Not true: there is malware that pretends to be Pando. 
It is not spyware and it works just fine. See: http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/malware/pando.exe.php It shows that Pando is O.K. See: http://www.file.net/process/pando.exe.html It tells the malware story
