Apple iTunes 7.1 (Mac OS X)

Great Update

System running about 20-45% faster than before and fixes many crashes I had with iWork. All in all a good update. Memory usage also seems to be reduced. [alert admin]

Amnesty Widget Browser 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Too much, too little

Way too expensive for what it does. At $5 I would have bought this already, but at $20 I will wait till someone makes a freeware alternative. [alert admin]

Airport?

Nice interface, but only lets me display my ethernet port... would like to see my Airport as well, or at least switch between the two. [alert admin]

Ultragroovalicious 1.1 (Mac OS X)

ok

Quite impressive effects, but don't seem to go along with the music at all... they just sort of randomly appear and jump around for a bit, not really attempting to follow the beat or anything. Visually impressive, but should try to "feel" the music more. [alert admin]

Nice, but is there any way you can add support for Airport Express? Would be great to toggle between computer speakers and my stereo speakers. [alert admin]

NewsTicker 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Always Getting Better

Every once in a while, a new app comes along that gets me all excited about Mac OS X again. This is one of those apps. Extremely well designed and well worth the tiny $5 cost. [alert admin]

NewsTicker 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Awesome

Great App. A permanent part of my start up items. For $5 you can't afford NOT to register this app :). Author is very commited and open to suggestions. One thing I would like to see: Set expiration for headlines... some stories scroll by and I have no interest in clicking onto them.. They should dissappear after they are gone from the source feed, or maybe let user expire thyem after 1 day, etc... right now they seems to keep scrolling by till i click on them...maybe i missed something... Drunken Slug

have you tried forwarding the ports from your router, as it says to do in the documentation? Sounds like your firewall is interfering.

Why?

Just because a widget does no malicious damage to your data does not make it any less undesirable. Widgets that autodownload and install themselves without any notification could be an adware/spammers dream. Now they finally have an inroad to Mac OS X. Dashboard offers no way from the interface to remove Widgets from the system. Lots of people dont know to go to Library and delete them from there. Apple…
