QuickInstaller 0.93 (Mac OS X)
Many issues solved with version 0.95
Recently, I discovered several issues with the process of mounting disk images and finding install packages, and I released two versions today. I am convinced that version 0.95 will work very fine and robust, but I want to apologize for the irritation this might have caused.
Please get your copy of QuickInstaller 0.95 and let me know when you still encounter unexpected error messages. Even when 0.95 is not listed here yet, the download link does always get you the latest version.
Also, be assured that no data loss or harm could happen with any version of QuickInstaller, the installation process was merely canceled for various but incorrect reasons.
Best regards,
Dirk Stegemann

I'm sorry for the multiple replies: I did not get a confirmation for any of them ("Server did not respond"), so kept trying to repost... Dirk Stegemann

Actually, I don't know the answer to your question, but honestly: I doubt it. Of course, it might also depend on the specific disc you're trying to back-up.
I'd recommend to use Apple's Disk Utility to create a disk…

The Log says: dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib Referenced from: VulturesClaw.app/slashemdir/vulturesclaw Although this can be fixed by moving or copying the executable's "Frameworks" folder up one level in the folder hierarchy, from "VulturesClaw.app/Contents/Frameworks" to "VulturesClaw.app/Frameworks" there's an unresolved reference to libPNG: dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/libpng.3.dylib Referenced from: VulturesClaw.app/slashemdir/vulturesclaw Does anybody know where to get a pre-built version of that library...? Version 2 doesn't start. The Log says: dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib Referenced from: VulturesClaw.app/slashemdir/vulturesclaw This can be fixed by moving the executable's "Frameworks" folder up one level in the folder hierarchy, i.e moving or copying it from "VulturesClaw.app/Contents/Frameworks" to "VulturesClaw.app/Frameworks" Still, there's an unresolved reference to libPNG: dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/libpng.3.dylib Referenced from: VulturesClaw.app/slashemdir/vulturesclaw This cannot be solved because there's no libpng library around. I couldn't find a pre-built version either... Dirk

I'd *always* recommend to run the system's built-in Software Update ("SU")functionality -- it will clearly tell you whether this update is available for your specific hardware/software configuration. In case it's available and you feel uncomfortable to download it via SU, you can download it directly at apple anyway. Ok, usually the available downloads listed on Apple's web site and received via SU need some 24 hours or so to get in sync... shouldn't really matter, though. Regards, Dirk
