BOINC 6.2.15 (Mac OS X)

Brilliant...BUT

The Mac OS X version is still lacking the screensaver that works like the PC one, and without the Screen Saver it lacks real value. Still a wonderful concept, eh ET !! [alert admin]

Dantz Retrospect client 6.2.229 (Mac OS X)

What Else is There ? [nothing]

Retrospect has some issues with the client turning itself on INTEL Macs but apart from that I have no problems AT ALL with it. There is no other solution in its type. [alert admin]

Rumpus 5.3.3 (Mac OS X)

Simply Brilliant

The ongoing Updates to this product are a sign of the fantastic support that is offered, NOT a sign of any 'faults' just great customer service. Unlike other companies that keep you waiting 18 months for a fix (guess who that is!!) Maxum respond and supply updates swiftly, without ever breaking the product. Amazing IMO. A leading example of development, support and fair pricing. [alert admin]

Adobe GoLive 9.0 (Mac OS X)

Eggs in one Basket...

Never, ever, rely on software companies to be there forever, or test their products, or give you support. As with all Golive issues (except for GL6.0) this product is a prostitute to economics. Bye bye, database linking, bye bye good clear reliable code, bye bye good interface. DON"T Buy it, as it's been nothing ore than a money making make-over for years. You have been warned. (by those below too). [alert admin]

EyeTV 2.3.3 (Mac OS X)

Almost Perfect

Often records programmes that cannot be written to DVD via. Toast (7.1.2 or 8) which results in no audio or voice-over commentary only. The solution given by the EyeTV Support people is beyond resonable as it involves hours and hours or reencoding (if you have the HD space!) only to be left with the same issue still. [alert admin]

Web Control 1.0.7 (Mac OS X)

Potentially Brilliant...

If this application hand an interface more atune to a database/record system, whereby one could 'navigate' though the Apache httpd.conf file via. nested pop-ups for each Apache directive, then it would be totally invaluable! I've tried to create the same idea as a prototype design in FileMaker using XML by example. [alert admin]

Adobe Illustrator CS2 12.0.1 (Mac OS X)

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS PRODUCT

I'm still not clear whether to blame Apple or Adobe. All I do know is that Illustrator really DOES NOT work on INTEL iMacs / Mac Books and Photoshop is just about as bad. Crash, Crash, Crash. If you want a second opion (or 100's) go to the Adobe forums or Google and type in "CS crashes". Do not part with you money until this whole CS2 Suit of applications is repaired and O.K.'d for use in the Forums and Lists. Use older versions, or Freehand instead. It's all a terrible catch-22 as you really ned older macs, os x and illustrator to make a living anymore. [alert admin]

Won't Boot

After 4 days of trying... removing ram, pci cards, formatting hd, low-level formatting all zero's, zap pram, reset pci slots on logic board, new hd, minimal ram, new cmos battery, new processor... I have got XpostFacto to work fine. Occassionally I loose my display, it sleeps and it never comes back till a hard reboot, but in all fairness, this may well be my G3's hardare probelm. it works fine now, thank you :-)

Combo download?, or any download?

I've followed the link on this page and then on to Apple but just can't see where the downloadable (and COMBO) installers are that are mentioned in the KB Article(s)?
