*censored*tail — I mean Dicktail (is that better?) — works fine with 10.5.3. Nice to see they were right on the tail of the bug and squashed it. This is my absolute favorite maintenance application since DiskWarrior (which ain't been so good itself since the recent OS update, at least on my Mac!). For my money, and it's very little in the case of this app, C.T. is the most elegant, cleanest maintenance-option setter deal going. I've supported Maintain for years, and as long as their products remain so solid and stable, will continue to do so. Nice job in every way. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2008 12.1.0 (Mac OS X)
Updated all apps as stated, no hitches, all working fine — Word seems faster. I recommend fixes permissions before and after just to be on the safe side. [alert admin]

CleanApp 3.0.0b5 (Mac OS X)
Tried the app, decided I liked another better and removed it, but my MacBook kept going into overdrive, fan kicking in, box heating up. Checked Activity Monitor and found CPU usage at 96% for CleanApp LaunchDaemon left behind after uninstall. I dumped that and now the puter's quiet as a grave. Hope future work solves this... Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5584.0 (Mac OS X)
So far, more intuitive than Fusion
I'm trying out both Parallels and VMware Fusion, and so far Parallels wins. I'm aware of no speed differences between the rivals on either my MacBook, MacBook Pro or iMac, although Fusion MIGHT have a very slight edge due to its dual processor usage. But Fusion's network printing setup is a nightmare, with arbitrary sometimes works/sometimes doesn't behavior, and requires several cumbersome network settings (giving inconsistent results) that Parallels is smart enough to include as defaults. And accessing a second printer with direct USB hookup was no problem with Parallels, while being completely unrecognized by Fusion. Also, I like the way Parallels accesses my mouse settings and driver (no windows driver equivalent for mine), whereas Fusion drops the ball on this also. And on the meaningless candy front, Parallels does cool animations. So far, this is a very solid program and looks like the one I'll stick with. [alert admin]

Docker 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)
This is exactly what I was looking for, and a nice alternative to Unsanity's dock hack. Apple's default blue-on-blue "glowing" orb for open applications is really inadequate. With Docker I'm able to choose something that can actually be seen (yellow's pretty good). It's also nice to be able to change the dock's basic color, etc. Very nice job — I'll definitely donate on this one. [alert admin]

HP Photosmart 9.7 (Mac OS X)
Not for all Photosmart printers
Looks like this is for the 2600 series only. Go to HP's site and download the latest appropriate driver for your printer there... this isn't a generic HP driver. [alert admin]

iCab X 4.0 (Mac OS X)
To say this is an improvement over 3x is not the issue... it's a whole new ballgame! Plain, simple, FAST, works great. I had some minor issues and contacted the developer. He answered at length and resolved all. There are a few small points in the security apparatus in remembering passwords, etc., that are a tad cumbersome, but well worth the added security. Very nice to see this browser so well developed by a team that knows what it's doing and who deserves the shareware support to continue the endeavor. [alert admin]

I've had the same problem since 10.5.3 upgrade... hangs on task 5 directory build. Could it be peripherals or 3rd party (Parallels, VMFusion, etc.)? Will try again. OK, here goes...

A Really fine Browser....With One Big Shortcoming.
I absolutely agree. While I found the use of "*" in place of some of the site info successful on a few sites, others use a different method of security where that isn't an option. I appreciate what the developer of this fine browser is attempting, but I would hope he'd leave the security worries to us (as if we don't have enough!) and adapt a less cumbersome solution, i.e., that used by…

I suggested in an earlier comment that maybe Maintain in Germany should rename the product Dicktail. Then there'd be no problems. This country seems to be made up of morons or puritans, with nothing in between. Well, of course there's me...

I solved the problem - which I guess didn't exist before 3.6.4. It's Application Enhancer (or APE) from Unsanity. I use their FontCard, which is indispensable for me. When I put RapidWeaver on APE's Master Exclusion list the problem was fixed. Check Sys Prefs for APE... hope this helps.

Going to have to change the app name
Yes, every time I read the *censored*tail reviews, I'm reminded of the incredible stupidity and intellectual dishonesty and childishness of the citizenry of the "land of the free." Don't rename the app, just get rid of the cowardly puritans who devise such "censorship." OK, let's try this... Coktail, Cokctail, how about Dicktail?

There is no spyware on Mac OSX
Sure you can remove history in Safari with one click, but there's a difference between the tracking cookies and the needed ones - banking, etc., and I've found that this app is good at determining which is which and getting rid of those annoying cookies that I otherwise have to periodically cast out one by one.

Demo Available --Crippled/bug?
Follow through and isolate for removal. I did and all selected tracking cookies were removed. Another nice feature, also found in Coktail - man can you believe VT censored *censored* in *censored*tail!? Maybe the app should be renamed Dicktail - is the speedy removal from any or all browsers of histories, downloads, etc. So far seems to work as advertised.

I agree with you but -- do you know of "one great theme?" Man, most of these themers need a solid course of basic color theory and design.
