Back-In-Time 1.2.0 (Mac OS X)

Excellent Time Machine tool

Back-In-Time's ability to clearly show on one screen what backups are available for a file or folder make the Time Machine much easier to use. Instead of having to grope and guess in Time Machine at where backups of a file might be you get the info all at once on one Back-In-Time screen. Since I have only used the app for one day I didn't rate quality/stability--actually just stability, the quality seems great--but I have not had any problems during the time that I have used it. iPhoto Buddy 1.2.8 (Mac OS X)

Works well

I was leery of using this app because of OMG's comments. However, I haven't experienced any problems and find it to be very useful. [alert admin]

1Passwd 2.1.3744 (Mac OS X)

Spectacular!

1Passwd is the best piece of software that I've started using over the past several years. In addition to allowing me to finally sort out several years of multi-browser password mess it has helped me understand how Apple Keychain works. And the developers, both directly and through their forum are incredibly responsive and helpful [alert admin]

Birthdaybook 3.6.1 (Mac OS X)

.Mac Account no longer needed

The problem I reported yesterday has been corrected. It would be nice if the app would import a text file so that data from programs other than iCal and AddressBook could be imported. [alert admin]

Birthdaybook 3.6 (Mac OS X)

.Mac account needed?

When I try to download it or go to the developer's website, I get tranfered to the the .Mac web page. To go further I would have to log in as a subscriber, which I'm not. Has anyone else had this problem? [alert admin]

Address Book Reports 2.0.6 (Mac OS X)

horrible tech service

Despite repeate requests over the past 12 days, I have not had the courtesy of any answer from this outfit about the following problems: 1. If the use Filofax Personal format it prints 3 pages to an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper which, I presume, is for scored paper that as far as I know hasn't been available for a long time. FiloFax now sells the individual 3.75 x 6.75 sheets. 2. I am unable to change the CustomNoraml|1 format. Aren't I supposed to be able to set up my own format? [alert admin]

Address-O-Matic 1.0 Build 31 (Mac OS X)

Outstanding tech service

I had some difficulty understanding how to set Address-O-Matic up, partly caused by some network problems unrelated to Address-O-Matic. Marco was extraordinarily responsive and helpful in solving my problems. I now have Address-O-Matic working perfectly. [alert admin]

TypeIt4Me X 2.1b6 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful

I, like several other reviewers, have been using TypeIt4Me forever (well, March 1997). I've always found the developer to be very responsive to suggestions and bug reports. This latest beta version removes, for, me a particularly annoying bug. Riccardo, you probably ought include a help file in your beta versions in case a new user (or an old user who hasn't updated for a while) needs to make an installation. [alert admin]

Love it!

I heartily second all of orlandobob's comments. One of the features TypeIt4Me has that I'm pretty sure other text expanders don't have is the ability to place passwords in a password box. I just discovered this gem--maybe it's been around for a long time--by, of all things, reading the the excellent user's manual.

Wonderful

Woops! My apologies, Riccardo. The installation instructions WERE in the beta ReadMe. Maybe it would be a good idea to move them closer to the top of the ReadMe.

Does Not Appear

I imagine that Riccardo didn't include a Help file because this is still a beta version. Maybe this will help: 1. Put the TypeIt4Me.component in Library/Components file and restart. 2. Open OS X's International Preferences. 3. Open the Input Menu Tab. 4. Find TypeIt4Me and check it. 5. The TypeIt4Me flag should appear in the menu bar. If it does not look for an Amercian flag (or other flag) in the menu bar, select it and you'll see the Typeit4Me icon.…
