iChm 1.4 (Mac OS X)
Clean interface, fast, nice features... and free! What else do you want? Thanks a lot for making this available! [alert admin]

SoundApp Reborn 0.1.1 (Mac OS X)
Vox (formerly ToolPlayer) also does pretty much exactly what you described here: Play any audio file in a slim interface. Having said so, I haven't tried this program, so it might be really nice. Just give both a try! [alert admin]

MacTheRipper 2.6.6 (Mac OS X)
Version 3.14 (the non-free one) is the best ripping app out there ![]()

I tried HandBrake, which is nice but doesn't allow 1:1 copying, I tried dvd2one_x with fairmount, which caused my drive to reset the region code (!), and in the end I returned to MTR. I have so far not found a disk that didn't rip, after trying it on ~150 DVDs. I understand people who are slightly irritated by the developers approach, requiring a "gift" (i.e. donation), and not making this process particularly transparent, but it's definitely worth the effort if you are looking for a robust, reliable, simple and powerful DVD ripping tool. ToolPlayer 0.2.5 RC1 (Mac OS X)
I've been waiting for a lightweight, pretty and Mac native music player for a long time, since all previous such projects died. Now ToolPlayer is a real revelation: Slick, small, plays almost everything and it's free! The two things that I am waiting for still, in terms of features, are a proper playlist editor (currently, files are just played in the order they're opened) and, most importantly for me, streaming mp4 support. Xtorrent 1.1 (50) (Mac OS X)
I've been using XTorrent since the early beta days, and eventually bought it. To me, it has so far worked almost flawlessly. The in-built search function is very convenient, and the user interface is clear and simple. Also, it doesn't tend to suck on system resources as badly as Azureus used to do. That was in fact the main reason for me to switch, Azureus would just notoriously bring my system to a halt after a while. Overall, I really recommend this app! I'm hoping to see a few more features added in the future, such as selection of individual files within a torrent package or the possibility to create a new seed. [alert admin]

Tables 1.3.9 (Mac OS X)
Better than Numbers and WAY better than Excel ![]()

Tables is by far more stable and comfortable to use than Excel, but as mentioned in another comment here, Tables is also far more resource-friendly than Numbers. Opening very large files with 20000 columns or more becomes prohibitively slow in Numbers, whereas Tables handles them quite well. The other thing that I was very fond of was the support: The developer is extremely resonsive to user feedback. I had a feature request, he immediately took it up and a few versions down the line, it was part of the program. Just for the sake of it, I should say that to my knowledge, Tables is the only Spreadsheet program I know that can export LaTeX tables out of the box, without any macros or add-ins! I write a lot of scientific stuff in LaTeX and for me, this is the ultimate killer feature :-) I hope that this program will prosper, because the figures and diagrams part of it are already showing a lot of promise. They are not yet as complex as the ones in Excel, but the ones that are there look a lot better, on the other hand. [alert admin]

Quicksilver 1.0b51 (Mac OS X)
I've been using QuickSilver on my MacBook ever since I bought it. It's one of the most useful little tools ever! I removed almost all icons from my doc, just a quick keystroke and type one or two letters, and voila. Highly recommended. [alert admin]

Yes, it's free to use as far as I can tell after trying it for a little while.
