ffmpegX 0.0.9i (Mac OS X)
I used this GUI quite succesfully since it first came out. I also used the Mac since 1985 and although I am no programmer I never noticed any particular problem in my machine nor any other side effect. I deal with sound, graphics and DVD files, and I also keep my mail and all in my machine. No problems so far from FFMPEG. I don't know if it is an Apple certified piece of software, but it does what it promises since the early days, and I never had problems on the side. Perhaps this GUI allows an experienced user to do far too many things, and a proper manual would be very welcome. However test and trial got me all I need so far, perh0pas I had to try hard at times but it worked at the end. If I needed help I got help from the programmer quickly. So I am really pleased with ffmpeg: all my valuable data relax in my machine mainly because, as a filmaker and editor dealing constantly with VOB, MOV And sound files this GUI helps me to my work done efficently. Other far more expensive software does not work, and most of all costumer care is null in many cases. It annoys me to read simplistic comments especially when they come from people who seems to know how to deal with OSX, while I know nothing about UNIX, and anything wich helps me to use its potential is a blessing to me, especially when it does what it promises. 4W WebMerge X 2.3 (Mac OS X)
Please remember there are more than latin writing people around: Greeks, Russians, Chinese, Japanese, Indians and so on. Why are Mac applications so ... anti-unicode? Of course Web Merge is a great program ... but when I need to create either mixed languages pages, or 2Byte language pages I'm stuck. The world no longer rotates around the Atlantic ... there are other oceans, other people, and UNICODE exist [alert admin]

ChineseCode 1.4b1 (Mac OS X)
There must be an error on the download page. I still get ver. 1.4b1 while I should get the latest with extended expire date. As unsuffed and lunched, the version redirects me to the web site as expired ..... Good software but let me use it again Tia [alert admin]

UnicodeChecker 1.5.7 (Mac OS X)
Both Unicode Checker and Unicode Converter don't open on my machines (using Panther 10.3.01) And again Apple fails to design a standard allowing to work with different enchodings (two-byte and Latin) in one document. Filemaker, Golive, Word, Text-Edit, Tex-Edit never return the same readable document .... to make a wen page is a nightmare Any hints anyone Thanks from Taiwan [alert admin]

If I should quote amerikans software dev who never answered me (although they fully enjoyed payment for their work in very good EUROS) I would need a more than a few pages. Silence from developers is International: it has a lot to do with politeness, decency very seldom with attempts to look into problems before answering. Wariness about foreigners is very amerikan. Equally questionable attitudes.

Program always quits during processing
I used this program well over 4 years now, and it never crashed on me. Not only but it works well with 2Bytes words (Japanese and other non Latin languages) What do you do to make it crash I wonder? Just curiosity

A problem with the Skramsoft Software License
I don't understand exactly what you are trying to say. The problem on 'software licencesing' is ethical philosophical (in a world without ethics nor any philosophical views about life) possibly a merry exercise for laywers. As indeed we "the users" we are always guilty ... as we have no rights but pay for updates. Software, hardware, internet, media comanies give us a licence while they say if anything goes wrong it is our fault no…

Download don't work with Safari
It does work if you control click on the link and choose download linked file. Then in your download folder just change the "txt" extentions added by Safari and you get your .stix archive. BTW this is always true everytime Safari delivers garbage while downloading anythng. After trying several sites my guess is that Safari 141 is not as compatible as the Panther versions
