Spring Cleaning 9.0 (Mac OS X)
I have version 8.0 and it won't open and then crashes when I do get it to function. There are other programs superior to Spring Cleaning that accomplish the same and they are much cheaper. You can find them on VersionTracker. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2004 11.3.4 (Mac OS X)
According to VersionTracker Pro, there are TWO downloads; Microsoft Word 11.3.4 - Application - 22.8M & Microsoft Component Plugin 11.3.4 - 12.5M Yet when I download the updates, I get the same thing twice; Office 2004 11.3.4 Update - 99.9MB I understand that there are two versions of Microsoft Word 2004. One is v.X and the newer version, 2004. More proof that Microsoft suffers from schizophrenia. I am posting this commentary on both VersionTracker update sites. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 8.0 (Mac OS X)
Easy to download, install and use! This software is a HUGE improvement. I can hardly wait to put all of its details to use. I've tested a few of the normal uses and I am delighted. The disc artwork alone eliminates the need for all the other extraneous software that I have been using; Epsons' PRINT CD, The Print Shop, etc., etc. Cataloging another bonus! [alert admin]

Mail Unread Menu 1.1 (Mac OS X)
So far the first version didn't install properly and now with the new version, all I get for my effort is a huge page of symbols, question marks and letters. In other words, gibberish! The screenshot looks great! [alert admin]

QuickMail Client 3.5.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I wanted to try QuickMail but...
I get a message that makes reference to the fact that it is not scriptable. I have an iMac w/Tiger and plenty of available space does that create a problem? Several years ago, I used QuickMail on a job at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and I loved its interface. [alert admin]

Camino 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I just downloaded this new update.
I pray that it is completely stabilized by now,. Camino has been my browser of choice due to its clear and clean simplicity. However during the past few months Camino has crashed on a daily & regular basis, sometimes a couple times a day. TalkBack has been extremely busy during this disappointing period. My fingers are crossed because I don't see greater stability has been included as an improvement. [alert admin]

pagesender 3.5.4 (Mac OS X)
I had a fax that I had to send to the CA State Dept, of Motor Vehicles . I had previously mailed hard copies of the change of address form to the DMV in Sacramento twice! Each time I phoned to follow up, my new address had not been entered into my record. I spoke to a man in Sacramento and he suggested that I fax the form directly to him. I was able to get the paperwork to his desk with the help and support of SmileOnMyMac. I was very impressed with the technical support: above and beyond what a demo deserves. Since the form and the Driver License were not created on my desktop, I had to scan them in pdf format. At that point I attempted to print/transmit the forms in Adobe Reader and each time I made the attempt it crashed. I was directed by their support staff to open the documents in Preview and then when I clicked the print button - Voila! fax success!! Pagesender is an extremely useful piece of software. I recommend it highly! [alert admin]

I had no problem indexing the app. However, I am wondering if we are expected to pay $19 to update since it was bundled with the newest version of Toast Titanium.

I have always found Roxio's customer support extremely helpful. My only complaint is that they are located in Canada. Unless you are fortunate enough to locate the 800 number, you are forced to make a long distance phone call. I am thrilled with the changes made to Version 8. I especially like the catalog feature and cross platform data spanning and recovery.

The extras make the change worth the new interface. I am thrilled to have the ability to catalog my cds and I look forward to using the graphics program for printing on my burned cds. It still works the same as before. I love all the new changes!

I am hoping that Roxio checks this site from time to time. I am not criticizng their customer service because it is a reality that hackers can be a causative factor. However even prior to the latest issue, it has been a laborious task to update. As soon as you launch the new update you are requested to provide a serial number, not always readily available. And then you are required…

Wasn't the original beta called TechTool Pro 5.0? If so, why are they now calling it TechTool Pro 4.5.1? I downloaded and installed 5.0 and it created another eDrive and a lot of confusion so I deleted it, no simple task.

No you aren't the only one! I have attempted to download several times since the day of its release. The message I continually get is "Image failed to mount." I waited a few days and tried again today to no avail! I am going to uninstall the older version immediately.

I paid for VersionTracker Alerts, not this! Alert me when I need to update software. Don't alert me to read a commentary on something that has no impact on me or my computer. My computer wakes up fine, thanks and I can read opinions anywhere on the web.
