Thurly 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Useful but...

I like this utility BUT, I hate using keystroke commands because I can never remember what the sequence is. I would much prefer the option to add a Thurly "button" into Safari so I have one button control. It's hard for me to recommend Thurly - Mac OS X with keystroke only options currently available at 1.0.1. [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 2.2 (Mac OS X)

Best update yet! Good job Apple.

This was the easiest update I've applied to date and it has improved the overall responsiveness of my (original) iPhone -- rather significantly. However, when you perform the upgrade, use a USB port on your computer not a port on an attached hub and not a third party internal USB card port. Otherwise the upgrade is likely to stall, and you will have to restore the iPhone to its original settings before upgrading. Also, unplug any USB devices not required during the update process. From that point on (after the firmware update is applied successfully) you may reattach all USB devices and revert back to using a USB hub or third party internal USB card port for day-to-day use. CopyPaste Pro 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Very Buggy

Having been an extremely satisfied CopyPaste user for years, I was very excited to see a new version come out. Without trying it first, I purchased a license for CopyPaste Pro. This version is VERY bug ridden and I wish I would have waited. I'm going to switch back to version 2.7.5

For example: using Command-C (and some number) and then Command-V (and that same number) works some of the time but fails most of the time.

At times, the new pallet sticks and won't go away blocking what I'm working on... very frustrating. They claim it to be "faster" and I say hogwash... it's slower.

I completely agree with reasthope2:
"I liked the old system with two pallets. I could keep them relatively small and off to the side. When I needed to, I could keep them both open at the same time. I could drag the pallets next to what I was working on to speed up the pasting function (the shortcut keys are undependable). The new browser is too big and takes up too much of the screen. Also, when I move the mouse off the browser the copied items shrink and I can't see what they are. Sometimes I can't figure out immediately which side of the browser I'm on."

I'm not opposed to new interfaces and I can learn new tricks (I typically applaud change) IF they work and IF they add value. IMHO - this design is flawed.

My recommendation is to TEST before you buy... I think you'll pass on this version.

WidgetWIzard 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Worthless... but you get what you pay for.

Junk. Doesn't work. Unresponsive developer (which is far worse than software that doesn't work). [alert admin]

WidgetWIzard 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Can't seem to make this work...

I cannot get this to work. The widget is generated perfectly in the browser but it won't download. I have read all details and double checked my entries. I tried different browsers. Any help or suggestions from the developer wouldbe appreciated. Here is what I see in the browser upon generating the widget: Warning: fopen(NapaValleyWineRadio.zip) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/innermin/public_html/WIDGETWIZARD/zip.php on line 165 Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/innermin/public_html/WIDGETWIZARD/zip.php on line 166 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/innermin/public_html/WIDGETWIZARD/zip.php on line 167 [alert admin]

Dragster 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Save your money!

I've come to expect high quality applications from Ambrosia Software with applications like SnapzPro X and WireTap Pro to their credit but this is simply garbage. Save your money. Okay, maybe I can live with an application that falls short of innovation but it hangs, crashes, and introduces the spinning beach ball from hell. [alert admin]

PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Unreliable and trouble

On Mac OSX, I've had some applications that I need to force quit and then relaunch -- no problem. This is the ONLY application I've ever used on Mac OSX that crashes my Mac! Keep Diskwarrior by your side if you choose to try this. Mac OSX 10.4.8 on a PowerPC Dual 2.5 GHz and 4 GB SDRAM. Unfortunate. I just purchased a Blackberry Pearl. I really like the Blackberry but back to Cingular it goes without the ability to synch reliably. Sorry RIM... time to wake up. The Mac is back and here to stay! [alert admin]

Version 1.0.3 works with 10.4.8

Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 at 10.4.8 with 4GB SDRAM. Version 1.0.3 works very well with 10.4.8 and iTunes 7.01. However, version 1.0.7 fails. [alert admin]

WordpressExport 0.3 (Mac OS X)

More Documentation Please

Where does this plugin get installed? What is the actual name of the plugin after installation? Where exactly do I access the new panel from? How do I set the ftp to the WordPress server and appropriate directories (or is this simply a prep and export to my local disk for manual upload)? A little extra instructional information would be appreciated. [alert admin]

Beta Testing Protocol

Yes... I agree when reviewing performance and bugs. But, when we're rating the overall new design (which is not considered to be an enhancement by most reviewers on this site) use of star ratings IS appropriate. The interface of this new version is considered clumsy and poorly thought through compared to the previous release version based on recent comments. The developer should be pleased with this early beta feedback and take note especially since this…

Superb software and ASTOUNDINGLY overpriced

Let's assume from your argument that the software is worth $100, the service and support from the developer is worth $250! Ease of use, ease of administration, security, stability, immediate replies when stuck, ongoing support and updates makes this worth every penny for me (and I'm a home user)... my time to wrestle with Apple's ftp or other less expensive solutions for Mac OSX (and yes, I've tried most of them) makes this software worth…
