DropShare 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Good app

This app is really pretty perfect in it's simplicity. There is just one feature I think it could use, the ability to cap your uploads. I'd live to be able to limit the speed I upload through this app, so I can still use my Internet connection while a file is transferring. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

"No Logitech devices detected"

I have been the owner of a MX518 Gaming mouse for a long time now. It's a great mouse, it really is. It's really just a shame that Logitech has never, ever had any software available that would allow me to use all the features and functionality of this mouse. All I want to do is reprogram the sensitivity buttons, but there just isn't any way. Please, please support the MX518 mouse in future versions of LCC. Out of curiosity, are any of the G5 mice supported? (It's not like they've provided a list of supported devices) [alert admin]

Acquisition 126.1 (Mac OS X)

The latest version rocks

I just downloaded the newest version of Acquisition (126.1 right now). After using this for 5 minutes I took all my other P2P apps off the dock. It just blows everything else away. I'm even considering paying for it... [alert admin]

JewelCase 1.8 (Mac OS X)

Great little visualizer

I just downloaded this and I've gotta say, this is pretty cool. It's simple and elegant, honestly I'm surprised apple didn't think of this first. Well worth the 2 second download and installation. [alert admin]

SimCity 4 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Sim City still crashes

When I first installed the game I was having some major graphic problems. Luckily the 1.0.2 patch managed to fix just about all of it. Unfortunately it didn't fix everything. The game has frozen four times in under four hours (completely locked up, had to restart every time). I hope for another patch in the near future. [alert admin]

MPlayer OS X 2.0b8r2 (Mac OS X)

MPlayer or VLC?

I've had a lot of trouble with MPlayer lately, random crashes, bugs related to Exposé, that kind of thing. MPlayer was my favorite media player for a long time, but now I've started to use VLC more and more. For some reason MPlayer seems to get worse with every version and VLC seems to get better. One thing I know: You need both of these apps, whatever one won't play, the other will. [alert admin]

DeskEffects 1.5.4 (Mac OS X)

incompatible with 10.3

I love this product, i really do. it works well and it's mostly hassle free. Unfortunately any application that puts a screensaver on the desktop utilizing apple's screen effects engine will cause some major problems. Most importantly exposé and application switching. If you're using this or any other desktoip screensaver application it will prevent application switching which in turn makes your mac very prone to crashing because whenever an app crashes you often can't use command tab to get out to another app. Great concept, unfortunate incompatibility. EasyDivx 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Obsolete

This app may or may not work perfectly, but it doesn't matter. It's an inefficient way of viewing divx movies. forget this app, all you need is another app also available at VersionTracker, it's called Mplayer. Mplayer will actually play anything I throw at it, no conversion necisary. [alert admin]

forty-two 1.6.1 (Mac OS X)

VXplus works

I decided to just go up to forty-two VXPlus, it works better than 1.5 and much better than 1.6 for me. I also heard that the new VLC has an output option that can do divx, svcd etc. Probably worth checking out, and it's free unlike VXplus. [alert admin]

forty-two 1.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Version 1.5 or 1.6 ?

I just have a quick comment. I'm having a lot fo trouble with v.1.6 I actually haven't been able to finnish writing a whole avi file, it will just stop half way (and no I'm not writing just the first chapters). Ver 1.5 worked much better for me and I'm probably going to go back to it. In general this is a great program, thanks a lot. [alert admin]
