Vuze 4.2.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Still two major problems in the Classicx UI

Problem 1: On occasion, all my seeds disappear from the window. They are still seeding but you cant see their name. If I restart Vuze, they appear again. I could live with this. Problem 2 is another matter. Problem 2: I have "Confirm when deleting Data" checked in the preferences. However, in the Classic UI, this does not work. I have never once been asked to confirm. The same button is used to delete seeds and downloads. It is very, very easy to delete the wrong item. I can't count the amount of times that I thought I was deleting a seed and instead I deleted a torrent that I was downloading. I then have to spend much time figuring out which torrent was deleted. This is no easy task when you have 40 torrents downloading. I have wasted countless hours! I notified Vuze of this problem last February. I sure wish that they would fix it. Don't get me wrong, I like Vuze. I use it more than I use Transmission. However, beware of these bugs! [alert admin]

Vuze BitTorrent Client 4.1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

One thing that could be fixed

You have only one "X" button to remove a torrent. I can't count the number of times that a torrent that was done was highlighted, I pressed the "X" button and a torrent that was sill working and was also highlighted (but not seen because it was not in the window) was removed instead. This has literally happened to me 20 times or more since I started using Azureus years ago. i try yo remember to always make sure that only one item is highlighted but sometimes there is one in each window, you can't see one of them and you forget. The working torrent gets deleted and then I have to jump through hoops to figure out which one it was. What you need are two different "X" buttons. One to remove torrents that are completed and one to remove torrents that are not completed. Have many other people found this to be a problem, also? [alert admin]

Data Rescue II 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

What good is it if it doesn't recover the file names?

Sure, it recovers files but not their names. If you are looking for something specific, like a jpeg, you have to look through all the jpegs to find the right one. This is unacceptable to me. It does recover them but needs to recover the names too, to be really useful! [alert admin]

Tag 0.4.1 (Mac OS X)

This looks good but.......

This looks good but setting itself up as the default app for opening flacs and not letting you change that is a major deal breaker. Too bad. [alert admin]

TiVo Decoder 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Works but freezes finder.

I'm running Leopard on an Intel Mac Pro. This app works, but it freezes my finder up every time. Also, I wish it had a queue. It seems that I can load only one file at a time. I wish that I could load 4 or 5 so that it could work over night. [alert admin]

Transmission 1.10 (Mac OS X)

I love Transmission

Transmission is still the best. It has a small footprint, can encrypt, it's fast. The only thing that I would like to see it have, is the ability to change the name of the torrent in the Transmission like Azureus can do. Alas, I was told that it would never happen. I does force me to use Azureus on occasion but I use Transmission whenever I can. Keep up the good work! [alert admin]

Leopard?

Any word on a version that will work in Leopard? I can't upgrade my system until a leopard compatible Azureus comes out. [alert admin]

More than one way to skin a torrent...

Good suggestion. Will do.

Stop messing with it

I kinda agree. Azureus is already a CPU hound. One of the biggest complaints that I hear about it is that it has too many features. I'm stuck with it because it is the only version that will work in Leopard, but you can bet that I will always be in "Advanced" and leave the 'vuze' behind. I would rather send them money to turn the rest of the 'features" off. The…

Leopard? Yes.

Yes, thanks. This indeed, does work with Leopard. When I first got to this page, Mac OS X 10.5 Intel was not listed as an OS that Azureus worked in. I see that has been changed on this page.

Will back up over a network

Well, It's been backing up a 470 gig folder for almost 2 days now. However, It does seem to be backing it all up over my wired network. Thanks.

a question

Yes, it will back up over a network. SuperDuper definitely won't do that and I don't think that Carbon Copy Cloner will do it either, though I'm not sure. Very cool..

NO WMV conversion support

I've been using visualhub to stitch wmv's together and make mpegs. Its only problem is that the time index usually gets read incorrectly by quicktime (the playback stops after a couple of minutes) but VLC and Mplayer are fine with it.
