I used this app the other day, and afterwards I found various programmes wouldn't open, including System Profiler, Acrobat Reader, Dictionary, Disk Utility, even Mac Help. Only after a re-start would they work again. I'm not saying I'm certain this application caused that, but I can't think of anything else I did out of the ordinary that could have done it. Something I can say for sure is that when I opened System Profiler after re-starting and looked for clues as to what had gone wrong, this is what I saw under logs, console.log in regards to Pic 2 Icon: The function CGSReadObjectFromCString is obsolete. Use of this function may cause an overall degradation in performance of this application, or of the system as a whole. The function CGSCreateDictionary is obsolete and will be removed in a Tiger update. Unfortunately, this app, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is therefore contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Sounds really bad to me, especially as the app hasn't been updated in ages and the developer's website no longer exists. Steer well clear, unless using an old OS version. [alert admin]

Great product

I loved this product, it works great. I only had a couple of minor problems with it. I needed to re-index my home folder afterwards for Spotlight to work on it's contents, but this was a simple & easy thing to do. I only needed to do it once, and then Spotlight continued to work fine. I also needed to play around with any widgets I had installed myself (only Apple's standard ones were recognised in the dashboard.) Dragging the widgets out of and back into their folder in Home/Library/Widgets made them work again, although I needed to re-arrange them on the screen again. Apart from that, it was easy to use, quick to use and the support from the developers was excellent. [alert admin]

pearLyrics 0.5 (Mac OS X)

Search feature?

Like it, apart from two things: 1. It sometimes makes the song pause for a second when it's getting the lyrics. 2. I can't work out how to do a search for a song not playing! I have tried putting it in the search field and pressing return, I've tried not pressing return, I've tried it with a song playing and not playing, but it never works and always just goes back to the song currently playing. Anyone know why? [alert admin]
