Skype 3.6.0.216 (Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Will not install to XP Win32

This version will not install to my less than one year old Gateway Media laptop, with XP fully updated. The instant message says this SKYPE is NOT a valid win32 app. Tech support will not respond to the issue. It does install on my Apple. [alert admin]

Skype 2.6.0.184 (Mac OS X)

Tech Support is NONEXISTENT--do not install

While this service looks and runs well, the tech support is nonexistent!!!! I am a certifyed Mac Tech, and have emailed a few questions about the amount of SPAM that comes to my number, daily; and SKYPE tech support NEVER answers. I am really tired of getting calls from, nude girls, CEOz of corporations, sex adds, and tons of other SPAM calls. This is the kind of stuff I have asked tech support about, and they never respond, yes, I said this twice, it needs to be said. So, if you okay with SPAM calling you every day and asking you for money or your information, and if your happy with no support from tech support, then install this and be ready for the calls of crap. If they get this fixed, then I would recommend the service, but, not till then. [alert admin]

BackityMac 1.6 (Mac OS X)

This version sucks

I bought version 1.5 and it worked great, also used the maintainence feature. All versions since then have not worked in some way. Not creating a dmg file, or total removal of the maintainence feature. Developer will not answer any email, about any one thing, but, they love accepting your money. Have emailed about the loss of the Maintainence feature, and DMG file creation death, no answers. Using Tiger 10.4.10 [alert admin]

DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Unable to Download

I tried 3 of the links for this FREEWARE, and all of them want my CC number and charge me at least 12.95 for membership, before any download is possible. It appears this product is just a teaser to gain personal information about you. [alert admin]

BySoft FreeRAM 4.0.4.953 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

I think this is spyware

I am really down on this app. It continually locks up my full updated windows, and when I unintalled it, and everytime I reboot, the app starts up, opens IE, and asks me to fully download again. This is a problem, it does not show in my add/remove list anymore, but, it is hidden somewhere and operates against my wishes. [alert admin]

Desktop Mechanic 2.0 (Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Really like this product--But

I am glad I bought this and I downloaded and tested several registry repair-ers, but, there are a couple issues to consider: -- The app has no link to email them an issue report, so I am doing it here. --I set the app to repair automatically, several times, but, it never sticks, no biggy just want it to work. --If I open IE, DM stops running, and I have to bring it forward to get it to continue, that's a nusence. That's, still glad I bought it. [alert admin]

NicePlayer 0.95 (Mac OS X)

Very Good Player

I have been testing many players and this one sinks a hole in one. It obeys my keyboard comands with ease and grace. Has a full maker line of the length of the video, most do NOT, thus I can move way forward if I want. And, not sure what it is, but, the player is soft and does not detract from the video. Totally good. [alert admin]

ShapeShifter 2.4 (Mac OS X)

Company will not respond

While I like this app, and it has always worked for me, and they keep updating it in a usefull and fun way, I have emailed them for my passcode, as I lost it and need to reactivate the app, they will not respond. I paid my 20 bucks, and just a simple response would be nice. [alert admin]

BackityMac 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Really like this product

Version 1.4 downloaded just fine for me, and I ran a backup right away, of my prefs, mail, and bookmarks. BackityMac created a good DMG file, I opened it, and all I wanted backed up, was there. Fairly fast, interface is way easy to use. Program also has some system maint. tools, tested and work good. So happy with this, I sent them the 10.00. [alert admin]

Firefox 1.5.0.1 (Mac OS X)

screen fragments and cursor issues

These issues have not been solved in this version: 1. when placing the cursor for data entry, the data entry actually begins 3 spaces to the left instead of where you place the cursor/pointer. This only happens in Firefox, i can expose' over to Safari or any other program at the same moment and have to cursor issue. 2. when typing paragraphs of text, screen fragments show up everywhere, of the text. That is, delete/backing up over a letter or more, and only part of the text deletes on the screen, fragments are left, and they continue to hang around in the same locations when scrolling and typing over the area. This is a real problem, as my text has to be accurate, and right now it looks like I have extra letters in a lot of words, fragments, and the text typing never starts where I place the cursor. Onlly a fire fox issue. [alert admin]
