Apple iMac ATI Radeon 2600/2400 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I have correct card but ...

I have an Intel iMac with the ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro card and OS 10.5.2. But when I downloaded this software, I got a warning "your Mac doesn't need this update". So, I'm definitely afraid to proceed with the update. [alert admin]

Jade 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Excellent

I just downloaded and tried it out -- and then immediately purchased the program. I am not an expert user of photo-editing programs, in fact quite the opposite. I haven't spent enough time learning to use PhotoShop Elements and a few other programs that I have. The other programs have simple editing modes but I haven't seen anything nearly as quick and automatic that gives consistent photo improvement (to my inexpert eye). After entering the license code I was able to quickly improve and save 2 folders of about 20 photos each -- 1 click per folder to fix and save. I reviewed the photos and all were better or equal to the original, and the folders were reduced in size by 1/2. [alert admin]

MacNote3 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Best Notepad for me

I have continually monitored notepads over the past year and tried out most of them. I've settled on this one due to its superior search capability (3 different modes from local to global--I use global mostly), responsive user support (I've made about 10 requests in the past 2 months and ALL of my feature requests have been added), and its encryption capability (can protect individual notes). It has all the standard formatting features plus it is the only notepad I have found that includes highlighting capability (one of my feature requests). Also, no problem copy/pasting or dragging images into the notes. I also like the fact that the program remembers all of my setting each time I launch it: ruler, window placement, etc. In a number of other notepads I would have to reset these things every time I open them. Finally, it has nice import capability, allowing one to drag and drop collections of rtfd note files that can be exported from other notepad programs. While the author may be Japanese, his English seems to be as good as mine. I've found no grammatical mistakes whatsover by him during extensive emailing back and forth about feature requests. The English documentation is excellent. [alert admin]

Update couldn't find my version of Office 2008

I used all the default options when installing the Office package, and now the updater can't find it. Also, like others, I am extremely disappointed in Office 2008. It has several nice improvements, but it has just as many important features from Office 2004 that have been dropped. Actually, more dropped than added for the way I use Office. And important features that have been available to PC users for several years were not added. [alert admin]

Spark 3.0b5 (Mac OS X)

Ver 3.0b5 DOES work in Leopard

I used to use Spark all the Time in Tiger and just now downloaded it for my new Intel Imac with OS 10.5. It works just fine for me. [alert admin]

CAPS Warn 3.1 (Mac OS X)

Works very well with Leopard, though not perfectly

Extremely nice product. I have a wireless keyboard with no caps lock or numlock indicators. I use the CAPS Warn audio "pop" sound to alert me when I have pressed either key, plus a brief screen flash, and also the indicator in the menubar. I like best the other indicator that is supposed to be next to the Apple logo except that it is not reliable in Leopard. There are 2 problems with it. (1) half the time it appears at mid-screen on the left side rather than in the menubar and (2) I use 6 Spaces (a Leopard feature) and it only shows up when System Preferences is open and then only in the same Space as System Preferences; it doesn't appear in the other 5 Spaces. However, the other method (the menubar icon) works just fine. [alert admin]

Sudoku Susser 2.5.3 (Mac OS X)

Incredibly well done

Great tool for learning basic and advanced and very advanced techniques. Creates new puzzles, lets you enter them manually (useful if you get stuck on one from, say, a newspaper), provides variable levels of hints, saves partially completed puzzles for later. Wonderful graphic interface, simple to use with great color codes. Provides as much or as little information about future moves as you like. I can't imagine anything more than this. And free, too!!! Font Pilot 2.1.4 (Mac OS X)

Ver 2.1.4 works better than I would have expected from these reviews.

All the fonts seem to display in their own font type. About 1/3 of the fonts seemed at first not to display at all, but I found that by clicking in the scroll track either above or below the scroll ball brought the fonts into the display after a short delay. Choosing Waterfall from the Font Menu brought a waterfall display of any font IMMEDIATELY to the screen. Very fast. Font Pilot also displays some fonts not on my computer; it increases the number from my 80 to 120. I was hoping for much more than that but it is better than what I have without Font Pilot. MyDog 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Partially works for me

I am using Safari 2.0.4. When I search using the WEB button, nothing happens. When I search using the APPLE button, it launches 7 or 8 windows in Safari, all with very relevant results. This is a good start, but should not have been released as ver 1.0. More like 0.5. A feature that would be nice is for the Dog window to remain open. As is, the program quits each time it launches a Safari search. In fact, to be really useful, it should provide a choice of being either a Dock or Menu item so that it is always available. Having to locate and run it each time is inconvenient. [alert admin]

update won't install

Ditto here. ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro, Intel iMac, OS 10.5.2. Mac gives me a warning that I don't need this update, and Software Update says there is nothing to update.

Don't use this with Leopard 10.5

I use ver 1.1b1 with Leopard 10.5.1 and it works fine. I plan to try to 1.1b2 update as well.

Where's the Registered version?

I agree with all of this. I had the same experience and same questions.

The discussion list ...

I haven't tried it but the discussion list does apparently exist at http://lists.markspace.com/mailman/listinfo/missing-sync-palmos-talk. It appears to be very tightly controlled by the list mom.

Still Mr. Reliable--revisited

I just installed this Mozilla and downloaded some files and saved some web pages and pictures, and received NO copyrite reminders, so maybe that problem isn't universal or maybe it depends on some preference setting. I almost didn't try this version due to that report. However, I'm glad I did. Initially, it works fine.

Entourage better than Mail?

I also find Entourage to be WONDERFUL at filtering spam. I now get about 40 spam a day, and Entourage usually cataches all 40!. As has been said, it is all a matter of setting the filter sensitivity, a nice feature of Entourage. Even better, Entourage sets spam with a label of "junk mail", so I wrote one simple filter to move all junk mail (based on label) to a spcial folder I named Junk…
