1Password 3.0.0.BETA-80 (Mac OS X)
One of the apps I use continually throughout every session on my computer. By only remembering my master password, it allows me to create unique passwords for every different web page and it fills in the username and password (and other info if appropriate) for me. Key features that make it so useful are (1) its ability to provide an icon in the menubar of every browser I use and (2) it does the same thing on my iPhone, not only remembering password info for me but also saving me tedious keystroke entry. Other important features are its ability to remember and enter credit card information and its ability to enter identity information to fill in new web forms. [alert admin]

Pod to Mac 12 (Mac OS X)
After my hard drive died, I lost all my movies, TV shows, and song on my Mac. This app was a very friendly environment and efficiently allowed me to copy all these items back to my Mac where I then moved them into the iTunes Music folder in my local Music: iTunes: Itunes Music folder. It could benefit from a set of documentation but, even though there were one or two items that I was unsure how to use, it was easy to do what was necessary. It would also be nice if it would sort when you click on the column titles, but even with that not working it was easy enough to find what I needed using the search box. [alert admin]

PDFpen 4.1.2 (Mac OS X)
Provides functionality beyond Skim and Preview ![]()

Despite an earlier reviewer's complaint that this app is overpriced because Skim and Preview have most of its features, I find that not to be the case. I use Skim and Preview a lot, but I use pdfPen when I need to add or delete or rearrange pdf pages in an extremely Mac-friendly environment. I use it a lot to insert or replace pdf pages I create in Word (using SAVE AS pdf). Also, when I fill in forms using Skim, the text disappears when I reopen the file with Preview or even Skim I believe, but the text filled in from pdfPen "sticks" no matter what app next opens the file. So, when I need to reuse filled-in forms, I rely on pdfPen. I also like that I was able to scan in my signature and save it as a pdfPen object for easily inserting (with resize capability to make it fit) into forms. I do find text creation and editing in pdfPen clunky compared with, say, Word, but I suspect that this is just the nature of pdf editors in general. [alert admin]

FileMagnet 1.0.1 (iPhone)
Just tried it. From the iPod Touch, it gave me docs for downloading the Mac app. All I had to do was drag files to the Mac app's window with the iPod running and the files transferred instantly. I did have to put extensions on the Mac file names in order to read them in FileMagnet, but it was able to read both Office 2008 as well as Office 2004 as long as the extensions were correct. This app is a bargain!!! [alert admin]

teleport 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Teleport provides the easiest (and most fun) way I have seen for moving files from one computer to the next. I have 2 Macs, side-by-side. As an example, when I download a large file, I can download it just once and then drag-and-drop a copy from one screen to the other. Just amazing. I sometimes have a database or pref file that I want synchronized, and I simply drag that file either to the other computer's desktop or right to the desired folder. Works like a charm. [alert admin]

AppTrap 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)
Seamless. It only pops up when I drag an app to the trash and then it gives me the option of whether or not to delete associated files. Precisely what I always want. Haven't had a bit of trouble with this app and have been using it for 6 months. [alert admin]

Apple iMac ATI Radeon 2600/2400 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I have an Intel iMac with the ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro card and OS 10.5.2. But when I downloaded this software, I got a warning "your Mac doesn't need this update". So, I'm definitely afraid to proceed with the update. [alert admin]

Jade 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I just downloaded and tried it out -- and then immediately purchased the program. I am not an expert user of photo-editing programs, in fact quite the opposite. I haven't spent enough time learning to use PhotoShop Elements and a few other programs that I have. The other programs have simple editing modes but I haven't seen anything nearly as quick and automatic that gives consistent photo improvement (to my inexpert eye). After entering the license code I was able to quickly improve and save 2 folders of about 20 photos each -- 1 click per folder to fix and save. I reviewed the photos and all were better or equal to the original, and the folders were reduced in size by 1/2. [alert admin]

MacNote3 1.2 (Mac OS X)
I have continually monitored notepads over the past year and tried out most of them. I've settled on this one due to its superior search capability (3 different modes from local to global--I use global mostly), responsive user support (I've made about 10 requests in the past 2 months and ALL of my feature requests have been added), and its encryption capability (can protect individual notes). It has all the standard formatting features plus it is the only notepad I have found that includes highlighting capability (one of my feature requests). Also, no problem copy/pasting or dragging images into the notes. I also like the fact that the program remembers all of my setting each time I launch it: ruler, window placement, etc. In a number of other notepads I would have to reset these things every time I open them. Finally, it has nice import capability, allowing one to drag and drop collections of rtfd note files that can be exported from other notepad programs. While the author may be Japanese, his English seems to be as good as mine. I've found no grammatical mistakes whatsover by him during extensive emailing back and forth about feature requests. The English documentation is excellent. [alert admin]

Ditto here. ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro, Intel iMac, OS 10.5.2. Mac gives me a warning that I don't need this update, and Software Update says there is nothing to update.

I haven't tried it but the discussion list does apparently exist at http://lists.markspace.com/mailman/listinfo/missing-sync-palmos-talk. It appears to be very tightly controlled by the list mom.

I just installed this Mozilla and downloaded some files and saved some web pages and pictures, and received NO copyrite reminders, so maybe that problem isn't universal or maybe it depends on some preference setting. I almost didn't try this version due to that report. However, I'm glad I did. Initially, it works fine.

I also find Entourage to be WONDERFUL at filtering spam. I now get about 40 spam a day, and Entourage usually cataches all 40!. As has been said, it is all a matter of setting the filter sensitivity, a nice feature of Entourage. Even better, Entourage sets spam with a label of "junk mail", so I wrote one simple filter to move all junk mail (based on label) to a spcial folder I named Junk…
