MPP Enterprise Edition 3.2 (Mac OS X)

Can't recommend this more

If you're running a mail server for your company on OS X do yourself a big favor and check this out! I run CommuniGate with MPP and could not be happier. I use MailShell for anti-spam and Sophos for AV. These two really cut down on the junk. If you don't want to pay for Sophos and MailShell then you can plugin open source for filtering. I used ClamAV and SpamAssassin for a long time before I needed more options. (ClamAV can not clean a virus so mail with legitimate attachments gets rejected. With Sophos I can clean the virus from the message -- usually Word macro viruses -- and still deliver the mail.) The support is also top notch. I swear these guys never sleep. [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.0fc3 (Mac OS X)

This would be perfect if...

it supported Network Home Directories. As the app stands now it's not usable in a managed environment. It does show tremendous promise. I hope that the developers add support for NHD's in the near future. That would be worth paying for! [alert admin]

ExtremeZ-IP 3.2 (Mac OS X)

Not cheap but worth it

If you have a number of OS X users that need to access Windows servers this solution can't be beat. Microsoft's SFM does not fully support OS X and it NEVER will. EZIP allows for long file and folder names and works correctly with InDesign/InCopy CS lock files. SFM does not. Since EZIP caches the directory info in RAM (on the server) Finder searches are blazingly fast. Yes, I feel the price is high. I understand that fully implementing AFP is a tough job. It's hard to justify this product as it easily can cost more than Windows 2003 Server and the Windows server box itself. If you need 100% OS X compatibility, as I do, on Windows this is the best game in town. [alert admin]

not worth it

I've used Toast for YEARS. Reduce the burn speed. That always solves the problem. Your media and drive are not 100% compatible. It happens. Slowing things down makes all the difference. Also see if a firmware update is available for your burner. FW updates solves lots of media errors.

Dangerous!

Worst case you have to reinstall the OS. No big deal.

So the PowerPC code is state of art?

The more likely scenario is that the HARDWARE is different in the PPC and Intel Macs. The Intel Macs use different chipsets and wireless components. This is most likely a driver update for the wireless chips used in the Intel Macs.

Demoversion

Most likely your problems were due to the move from CodeWarrior to XCode. You now need at least Panther to run VM3. The next version will require at least Tiger as I am working on a Universal Binary.

why

For those that don't know the reason the PowerMac took off was because of CodeWarrior. It was the ONLY compiler for PowerPC when Apple introduced the CPU. CodeWarrior was the ONLY development environment for OS X until Apple released Xcode. There are still many commercial apps developed with CW and it is not a trivial task to move a project from one environment to another. I think it is awesome that Metrowerks keeps this crucial tool…

Permissions Errors

Windows version works fine for me. Backing up many OS X Macs and OS X servers. Only errors I get I also get on the Mac version where log files change between the "scan" stage of the backup and the "copy" stage of the backup. Nothing the software can do about that.

Why not get CGPro for OS X. I use it and it rocks.

Full screen mode is there

The control for switching into full-screen mode has been moved to the vertical left-side of the window. Full screen mode is there and works fine. Fantastic upgrade!
