Fetch Art for iTunes 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Very

It's a *very* cool concept, but it's also *very* slow -- I'm running it against my collection of four thousand songs in iTunes, and it's been running for more than a day now, with the progress bar sitting at 100% ever since I got up this morning. It needs to give better feedback about what it's doing and whether or not it's hung. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Still misses some things

Safari 1.0 messes up font rendering at small point sizes; rather than smoothing small fonts, it turns the letters into an unreadable garbled pixellated mess. Also, some CSS properties (such as 'first-line') are still not heeded. For purists it's still not nearly as good as Mozilla; but for everyone else it's FAR better than IE. [alert admin]

Symantec Norton Utilities 8.0b (Mac OS X)

Who would run a BETA version of disk tools?

Symantec's CFO to the CEO: "Hey John, we could use some more revenues this quarter. Bump up the version number on Norton Utilites for Mac, wouldya?" [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Something's wrong with…

the download page. If I don't give my email address, I get a 'not found' page. If I *do* give my email address, I get iTines 3.0.1. [alert admin]

Fink 0.5.2 (Mac OS X)

It still doesn't…

work with Perl 5.8, and the release notes make no mention of this. But I asked about this in the Fink Commander comments and was told a workaround is described at 'http://archive.develooper.com/macosx@perl.org/msg02447.html'. I tried the workaround, but it didn't work (I got the same seven undefined symbols over and over again, then finally a 'Failed: compiling storable-pm-1.0.14-1 failed' message. [alert admin]

Fink 0.5.2 (Mac OS X)

Does this release…

solve the incompatibility with Perl 5.8? I don't see anything about this in the readme or the FAQ. [alert admin]

Camino 0.7.0 (Mac OS X)

Double-clicking on the…

Camino application icon causes Safari to launch, and doesn't launch Camino. Huh. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 0.9 (Mac OS X)

Very nice, but…

still a handful of things it doesn't support properly or at all: for example the '' HTML character, and the CSS 'small-caps' attribute. [alert admin]

FinkCommander 0.5.1 (Mac OS X)

I figured out…

part of the problem I was hitting: apparently FinkCommander doesn't work right if Perl 5.8 is installed. And apparently (according to mailing list archives) this has been known about since last June, but there's still not even a mention of it in the readme, much less any sort of workaround.
