FontNuke 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

What does this delete?

Ran it on my 10.4.6 G4, listed the caches, selected Nuke, restarted. None of the caches it listed (incl. Adobe) were deleted. [alert admin]

NcFTP Client 3.1.8 (Mac OS X)

Name Should Be Changed

This is really a set of tools, NOT an FTP client. Calling it "NcFTP Tools" would be less confusing to those actually seeking client software. [alert admin]

NewsFire 0.91 (Mac OS X)

Kapitalistic Karma

I don't like people telling me what my work is worth, so I'm not going to tell this guy what he should charge. I just know that I can't afford it because people think my own prices are too high, and hire cheaper overseas labor to do my job instead. After four years of "globalization" I'm earning 1/9 of my former income, in a career of almost 20 years. If enough overseas laborers buy it, he may not have to worry about globalization affecting him. [alert admin]

MacTarot 0.99 (Mac OS X)

Not Ready for Prime Time

Card images do not always show the card named - which is just poor crafting. Needs "About" to show version number (there is some confusion as VT lists this as v.99 and author's website lists as v1.0) Instructions should be built into the application, instead of Read Me file. Needs an Export Reading to Text feature or Save Reading feature. Feels more like a beta version, not really thought out. [alert admin]

Silhouette standalone 1.9 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Whoa - price alone is reason to stay away from this!

Good artists should be able to do this by hand - so the app is really just a convenience tool, and should be priced accordingly. IMO the high price redefines the term "software piracy". [alert admin]

DVD Juggler 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Needs major bugs ironed out

After I do a search and add to the library, the next search and add locks up the app. Every time on my OSX 10.3.3 g4 system. If I quit after adding, relaunch, then i can add another (but must quit again). The interface looks nice, but the app needs more work. [alert admin]

Panther Cache Cleaner 2.2.2 (Mac OS X)

If this is for Panther...

If this is for Panther, then why are Jaguar markings depicted in the icon? [alert admin]

Halo 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Is CD Required for Windows?

Or are you just picking on Mac gamers? Requiring the CD will not stop piracy, and is a less effective scheme than the CD Key which IS required to play. I remember when this game was first hawked to the Mac community - years ago. It was leading edge THEN, but does not compare as well today to offerings by Blizzard, or UT. B+ for effort, C- for price, F for stupid upgrade requiring CD. [alert admin]

Good concept, limited functionality

That this works is not deniable. That it will be useful for most people is very debatable. More work on user interaction and direction is needed before this is even beta-ready. Meanwhile, what I've done is use the Finder's archive command to archive a selection of empty folders that I use in most every project. When I create a new project folder, I drag the archive into it -- double click, and presto... instant working…

OS X is cool but..

Font Gander was the best - drag and drop files or whole nested folders, and you got what you wanted. Any developer of so called font previewing utilities would benefit from seeing how one really works.
