TVShows 0.4.2 (Mac OS X)
I never miss a show and I don't even own a TV! (OK, I have a TV - but I don't have cable so it's almost the same.) This was a simple idea that stayed that way. Launches a Daemon in the background that checks for your favorite shows. You set the criteria. Done. Every morning I wake up to new shows. [alert admin]

Now I have to go back in time. Took 3 restarts with the paper clip to get back up and running. Everything looked good with the firmware update - until it didn't recover from the restart. Had a steady yellow light. Power cycling it never displayed a green light - or even a flashing one. Paper clip made the light go off - only when inserted. Had to completely restore by holding the paper clip in the reset hole while plugging in power. Good thing I had a recent saved configuration!!! Apple: Last update you guys removed support for my Laserwriter. This month I spent all night troubleshooting a routine update. Next month: Linksys? [alert admin]

This update is working fine on my desktop machines - but my laptop is not as happy. A few minutes after I have put my MacBook to sleep [by closing the lid], the fan comes on, plugged in or not - and stays on. Its supposed to be sleeping! Then when I open it - nothing - except the fan. The machine does not wake and must be hard shut-down and rebooted. Happens every time. Bad quality assurance, Apple! Who's running Q.A. down there? Espresso 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
There is nothing SHAREWARE about $81! The term shareware used to be synonymous with "pocket change" or "lunch money". The current trend to call $49 apps shareware is even pushing it. At $81 you have definitely crossed the line into a COMMERCIAL product. (There is nothing wrong with selling commercial products - but don't try to pass yourselves off as shareware just to get people to click on the link.) It has a nice interface, but doesn't do anything you can't get elsewhere for WAY LESS. I might even buy it - if you were more honest. (If you lie about that, what else do you lie about?) The import dialogs appear to be in German. I have no idea what they say - so can't use them and I sure don't want to hand-enter all my addresses and calendar items. [alert admin]

StuffIt Deluxe 2009 13.0 (Mac OS X)
I just bought this thing 6 months ago - and Smith Micro wants another $30 - for what? Required bug fixes? There are no "new" features that warrant a full version number, much less an upgrade fee higher than most full prices. (Quick Look = quick money) Want to know why people pirate software? Developer greed! I have used StuffIt for its entire 20 year history. I don't really know why anymore. The OS can handle everything I throw at it. Smith Micro has enough of my money. Don't give them any more of yours! [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 2.1 (iPhone)
Been trying to install all day. Backup speed HAS NOT improved. iTunes almost looks dead - progress bar hasn't moved in an hour, phone turns off, doesn't display any messages like "backing up" or "restore in progress". Shouldn't it stay on during the entire process - like it does during syncing? I started this process 4 hours ago and the backup is maybe 1/20th complete. It is moving, but its moving with the speed of rotting garbage. Another disappointing Apple brick. [alert admin]

Today 1.3 (Mac OS X)
There used to be a Palm Pilot app called "Today". It was cheaper. In fact with so many alternatives that do the same thing, I have to think the developer needs a life saving operation. [alert admin]

Rotary Dialer 1 (iPhone)
OK, I'm old enough to remember these things - and to have used them. It works! Its fun! Lacks sound. Developer, you really have to add the rotary sound! But hey, the price is right. [alert admin]

I want to add to my own comment. I tried all the other menu calendars and this is still the best one for me. It has the sexiest look and just the right amount of features. My biggest complaint was the new addition of the dock and app menu icons. I found a way to get rid of them... Modify the file named 'Info.plist' inside the Application's package (i.e. MenuCalendarClock iCal.app/Contents/Info.plist). Open this file in your favorite text…

Not exactly "better", just built-in. Do you mean "better" because it gives you several unnecessary format choices? (6 digit hex is the only thing I ever need.) Or "better" because you have to remember unfamiliar multiple-finger command keys while trying not to move the mouse? (Really hard on a laptop trackpad!) This does exactly what it says it does. It does it intuitively and simply. DigitalColor Meter is ackward and difficult to use. "Better" is a relative term.

I don't see how iBiz could possibly have erased your Address Book. It doesn't have the capability. It only READS from the address book. Everything you enter into the Address Book, you enter IN the Address Book - not in iBiz. You have something else going on. Don't blame iBiz.
I have been using iBiz since it was the original iWork. (They changed the name after Apple came out with it's "iWork".) I have never lost…

Never a problem. I quit before upgrading. And beleive me I UPGRADE A LOT! Come on guys - do some of your own beta testing! Lately it seems every time I turn the computer on there's a new version of iClock. I like to be on the cutting edge, but I also have some of my own work to do.

macaholic, I too didn't find the "Dial through Speakers" menu - so I read the manual. It was right there on page 3. And the answer to the previous comment about international dialing followed... "The plug-in operation can be customized to some extent. Due to limitations in Apple’s plug-in interface, this is a bit awkward. Hold down the option (alt) key, while clicking a telephone number. The menu item text will have changed to “DRDial Settings”.…

saschxd, what are you smoking? Windowshade works in 10.3 and always has. I have NEVER been without it since it came out.
