WipeOut 2097 1.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The patch does what it says, apparently. I haven't had any issues getting my iShock to work with the game, nor have I had any issues with the graphics with my Radeon 8500. Runs extremely smooth at 1024X768 with 4X FSAA, and I love that you can jack up the game's speed. The only weird thing is the way music only comes out of one speaker...and the sound effects come out of the other... [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2001 9.0.5 (Mac OS 9)
Haven't noticed any improvements, but then again, haven't noticed anything going wrong. [alert admin]

Macromedia Shockwave Player 10.1.0.11 (Mac OS 9)
As stated below, it works great on IE 5.17 and Netscape 7.0.2(and even Netscape 4.80). It's nice to see that Macromedia still makes their plugins available for OS 9 users...which is, apparently, below Apple to do(thanks again Steve, for kicking an entire userbase in the crotch)... [alert admin]

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) 5.9.3690 beta (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Trying to cram it full of too much stuff... ![]()

Though VT still says that it's a beta, the official release for 5.9.3690 came out a few days. Really kinda sucks too. Like it's been stated about its beta form, it really will *not* allow you to kill the AIM Today pop up, even if you disable it in the options. Also puts crap at the bottom of your Buddy List, linking to all the new stuff they've put in AIM. Now, I don't mind additions and such, but come on AOL, if we don't want to use it...please let us hide and/or disable it. Makes you wish Netscape Instant Messenger(the one that cames with Macintosh Netscape Communicator) was available on the PC... [alert admin]

Signature Randomizer 3.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
It's definitely a nice little app...but the thing is, for people that rarely reboot or re-open their email program, you're pretty much stuck with the same sig. as you would normally be. Would be nice if this application could give you a random sig. everytime you composed a new email rather than everything you reboot or re-open your email client. [alert admin]

Netscape 7.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Not quite the jump from 7.0 to 7.1... ![]()

Though it really does seem to load pages faster, a *lot* faster, the fact that they took away every search engine(except Netscape) in the url search bar, then broke it completely(you can no longer type in something in the url bar, then hit the down arrow and enter to go to whatever search engine you use) but now unless you keep the Netscape Toolbar installed, you can't search at all via the browsers tools(you actually have to go to Google, etc.). This was a very bad move, and I hope Netscape 7.2.1 will clean this up as 7.1 was near perfect and this was almost a step back. :( Quick update: Over at the Unofficial Netscape FAQ site, they have created a plugin that brings more than 30 search engines back to Netscape. It even fixed the url search! This small plugin alone helps Netscape 7.2 pass Netscape 7.1 in sheer performance. Rock on guys! [alert admin]

Symantec NAV virus def Aug 20 (Mac OS X)
Though you are right, Mac viruses are few and far between...I just ran into SevenDust the other day...and a buddy of mine just had *all* of his extensions deleted via its nastiness as he didn't have Norton to back him up. Whether you're on a Mac or a PC, antivirus software is a must. As for the what the virus definitions add, just read that "what's new" text file included with each update. A lot of times, it's updating against the various, low-level macro viruses that can still get Mac users who are using Microsoft products(MS Office, etc)... [alert admin]

Tried the new way, where you can upgrade the firmware via the browser...and that didn't work with Netscape 7 nor IE 5. Went back to the ole'TFTP way and it went off first try. As per usual, the new firmware seems even better than the last. More power to Linksys for continously supporting their products! [alert admin]

Like the title says, it's not the best browser for the web...in fact, in kinda sucks...that's ok though, Netscape 7.1 totally tears IE a new one anyway. Now, as for a mail and newsgroup client...this whips the pants off Outlook/Express. Rock solid. [alert admin]

Symantec NAV virus def Apr 9 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
For those wondering what's going on: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/mp3concept.html Oddly enough, it only affects Mac OS...though I'm uncertain if it's X and 9, or just X. Apparently it just plays an MP3 file of some guy laughing...that's it. You know, if this is the *worst* virus the Mac has seen in quite sometime....welll, let's just say it doesn't exactly having me shaking in my boots... [alert admin]

Go into your router, on the initial page, at the top, there should be a set of numbers followed by a date. That tells you what firmware your router is using. For the most part, if things are running smoothly, and you don't want to mess with it...don't. :)
