Vuze 4.2.0.8a (Mac OS X)
Forget about the so called spyware. The SIMPLE FACT is if you are not using Vuze you are disadvantaged. I kid you not I will download more than you will on ANY given torrent. Wake up! [alert admin]

movist 0.6.4 (Mac OS X)
Movist is a much better alternative to VLC at the moment as it plays most HD video with AC3 very well. DTS audio is still a problem. Looking forward to the next update. [alert admin]

VLC Media Player 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Vlc 1.0.1 is not bad but still dropping frames on HD video. They appear to lack OSX developers and the Mac version of VLC is suffering. At the moment Movist is a much better alternative and plays most HD video with AC3 audio very well. Struggles with DTS audio. [alert admin]

VLC Media Player 1.0 (Mac OS X)
VLC is almost perfect BUT I have discovered that Movist 0.6.4. is perfect and plays HD video without dropping frames. Give it a try! Versiontracker has not caught up with Movist 0.6.4 yet but it can be found using Google or MacUpdate. [alert admin]

VLC Media Player 1.0 (Mac OS X)
It plays HD Video BUT it is still skipping and dropping frames. So close to being perfect. Lets hope that when VLC 64 Bit and Snow Leopard OpenCL (when the FFMPEG developers adopt it) are released, this problem will be solved. [alert admin]

VLC Media Player 1.0.0rc2 (Mac OS X)
WOW! VLC will now play all my Blu-ray movies. Can't wait for Snow Leopard to arrive with its full 64 bit multi core processing and graphics support. VLC should fly when that arrives. Thank you VLC team for a great Media Player. [alert admin]

I am using the Sonnet E2P card and when I verify with disk utility I get errors under Snow Leopard. If you continue to use these outdated drivers you run the risk of corrupting the data. This would be a disaster. Sonnet have indicated that the drivers will be updated in October but ONLY for the 32 bit kernel. Hopeless.

Reinstalling the drivers is NOT the answer. They are removed by Apple for good reason to stop kernal panics.

Oh dear how sad. I am trying to understand what kind of idiot cannot use all the features available to them for their advantage. Ignorance is bliss. Stick to the simple light alternatives for simple people.

Transmission is good for the novice but Vuze is the ultimate when used in the classic user interface. Not only is it FAST, you can set it up to perform too your specific needs. Incredibly versatile with a vast array plugins available. The 3D View of the swarm is just fantastic. You can see immediately if the complete file is available and how many are seeding. You can load in your own ip filter list.…
