Commander - Europe at War 1.0 (Mac OS X)

The demo is pretty good - but expensive

I tried out the demo a few hours and it is a nice game. The graphics are nothing but for this type of game it is sufficient. My only comment is the price, $50 for a year-old game of this type is too much. But other than that, it's good and on my MacBook Pro it was perfectly stable. Would buy if it were cheaper. Biofilm 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Great but pricy

The demo looks fun. But USD 18.00 is just a bit too expensive for me to purchase. [alert admin]

EndNote X.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Updater does not work

This updater does not work. It cannot find Endnote, even though it is in the Applications folder. I tried to re-install it and then apply the updater, but that did not work either. I tried to fix permissions and I looked on the we for fixes but it just does not work. What is so hard about issuing an updater? <br><br>Endnote in general is getting worse and worse. I remember version 3 and 4, they were great products. Some of the things that made Macs in science superior. With every version since then, the app gets more and more bloated, bug-ridden and monstrous. All that would be fine if it actually worked. This must be the only company out there that cannot even make a functioning updater. I think it tells a lot about their engineers these days. I don't know what happened but I truly miss my good old friend Endnote that did my reference formatting so well. :( [alert admin]

I don't get the UI

I have used RB since version 2 or so, well over six years now. It was always fun, easy and creative to work with the IDE. Since version 2005 RealBasic does not exist any more. Everything is worse. Nothing is better. Please go back to the old UI. I have tried and tried but I find myelf fighting the restriced one-window GUI which makes no sense to me. I am now using version 5.5 and I don't see making the leap at any time. I'd rather spend my time improving my Cocoa skills, the learning curve is just as steep. Oh, did I mention the horrific help system that lacks examples and desire to help? I would like to see some statistics that show how many developers there are that actually moved over to RB2005. My bet is a very small number. Is this the end of Basic? [alert admin]

Mirror 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Works again, get Mac OS X 10.4.4

Since Mac OS X 10.4.2 and QuickTime 7.0.2 Mirror has not been working properly. This was due to a bug in Mac OS X that prevented all "movie" files created with QuartzComposer to display correctly. Apple has now fixed the bug and Mirror works fine again. Enjoy! [alert admin]

Mr Mail2Entourage 0.9.4 (Mac OS X)

I know..

As reported below MrMail2Entourage unfortunately <b>does not work with the latest version of Mail</b>. Before Tiger, Mail stored each mailbox as one file. But as of Tiger Apple decided to store each and every email message as separate files. The reason was to get the emails appear individually in Spotlight searches. <i>Thanks all of you who alerted me by email that the program no longer works. </i>I looked into the issue realize that it is more than just a little coding and testing to do before updating Mail2Ent. I have a day-job and cannot find the time to do this right now. I posted information about this bug on my website but decided not to remove the download since many users are still on Panther and Jaguar and it works fine for them. I hope no more Tiger users will lose time on this version. [alert admin]

DoubleCommand 1.5.3 (Mac OS X)

does not work for latest Powerbook

I used DC for a few months on my 12" Powerbook and loved it. On my new 15" (2005 model) it no longer works. I am trying to map the Enter key to become Control key. [alert admin]

This is, without doubt, the...

Are you seriously going to charge us $90 for a bug fix that will allow us to run it with Pubmed??? Just because Pubmed changes something does not mean that we should not expect a bug fix. Immediately! It should not take more than a few days for a free fix to reach your website.

RE: Time to cut them some slack.

I agree, the poster must be working for RealSoftware. I don't know of anybody that likes the new terrible UI.

Mirror ?

Second most expensive. The mirror in Hubble was expensive too, possible even more so than a Mac + iSight. Enjoy!

Thoughts

Any read/write can cause a file to become corrupted. In Safari Prairiefire the uesr is prompted to save a backup copy of the bookmarks.plist file. Stashing away an extra copy can never harm of course altough it should not be necessary.

New version indeed!

Hanan, please download again. It seems like VT did not support the letters "SOS" in the version number. I have updated the program to 0.9.9, and improved the application while at it:)

nice idea but needs work

Your points are taken and I will address them in the next update if possible. The repeated reminders are of course unnecessary. A comment to the registration reminders though: I don't agree that it is unnecessary just because the "app costs only $6". The app costs only $6 because I hope many interested people will register.

Foto we certainly exist. The code is given to buyers directly after purchase by direction to a site. Please mail again to the email address in the ReadMe or to balooba@earthlink.net. I cannot explain why your mail would have bounced.
