I've read the other comments and I want to say I never had problems with the Sparkle updating system in Transmission. I've been using it before it even hit 1.0.

Yahoo! Messenger BugFix 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Hey! I just tried this application and it is absolutely great! It didn't work the first time, but I installed a fresh version of Yahoo! Messenger and it worked perfectly. The /new/ emotions look great and I am happy to get rid of that stupid bug. Yahoo! sucks so much when its about the Mac version. Anyway, I think you should do more with this patch. See if you can add other emotions or something that might be interesting. You should make a website for this patch. Im sure it will be really popular. After you're done with that, you could digg it. I just can't imagine why isn't this a Universal Binary already. It lacks way too much in speed because of this. If anyone has the answer (or the solution), do tell me! [alert admin]

It's normal OS X behavior for the Inspector window to hide when the application is not in front. See iWork suite, Photoshop, Pixelmator and many many others have this behavior.
