CanvasUML 0.1 (Mac OS X)
I agree with the first poster: This should not be on VersionTracker. The app runs, but that's it. It does nothing. [alert admin]

NetSpeedometer 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This app sucks 80% CPU utilization on my iBook. Pretty ridiculous considering what it does. [alert admin]

NicePlayer + the XineLib plugin make an awesome video player. Goodbye MplayerOSX! NicePlayer's interface and playback are top notch. [alert admin]

SQLTunes 0.007 (Mac OS X)
Much better speed than a previous iTunes to MySQL app I tried. Support for other RDBMS would be nice, esp. PostgreSQL. [alert admin]

Carracho Server 1.0b10r2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I've used Carracho for some time now. It's the best way I've found to create a server where two-way (adminstrator-users) interaction is important. KDX looks and feels like a Windoze app-- that alone keeps it off my computer.
I love having all administrative functions in the client. I can run my web/database/file/Carracho server box headless, never needing to interact with it directly. Even if your server is also your main desktop, it makes changing settings while on the road much easier.

DiskWarrior X 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Just used DiskWarrior 3.0 on one of my "extra" computers. Booted from the CD and optimized my OS X and Users partitions. Now, thanks to the fools at Alsoft, my computer won't boot off anything but the CD. Why the heck didn't they include System Prefs & Startup Disk?! And, of course, I can't find my _real_ Jag CD. Thanks a lot, Alsoft! [alert admin]

Actually, no. It is not a Safari bug. Safari is behaving exactly as it should. The problem lies with the web server. It sends Content-Type: text/plain for the stuffit file, when it should be sending a more reasonable application/octet-stream. So, Safari displays it as a text file since that's what the server says it is.

How can you expect the website you mention to display "properly" when the code is such crap?

What are you talking about? Use OS 9 to administer the server? You do realize that Carracho client is Carbon, right? I never boot OS 9 and I administer my own Carracho server every day.
All administration should be done through the client. I shouldn't have to connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to my server just to change settings, nor should I be forced to use VNC or a similar product.
You obviously have no…

You obviously have no experience as a server admin. No matter how "new" servers are and no matter how much bandwidth is available, download "accelerators" act as though everyone else is a second-class citizen on the 'net. If you want faster downloads, pay for the extra bandwidth. Don't make others pay for you.
