Mozilla Firefox 1.0rc1 (Mac OS X)
I am a loyal Firefox user, and it was my default browser until this release. There has been a few problems that I have noticed, and the first is that when saving a bookmark now, it will not be automatically saved in the last sub-folder used within bookmarks anymore. i also noticed that when all open pages are minimised to the dock, then a new window cannot be opened when selected anymore as it used to be, and that is a real pain in the arse. I'm also not sure if the green forward and back buttons were there either, but unfortunately I notice them now, and I have also noticed some sluggish performance, although I am not sure if that is Internet related or not. I usually back up a previous Firefox before downloading a new release, but I didn't this time because i had confidence that I would like it. I don't though, so is there any way to get a copy of 0.10.1 anywhere? [alert admin]

NetShade 1.2.4 (Mac OS X)
I waited, and waited and waited the 'few' minutes for the proxy list to update before surfing, and the 10 minute demo period expired before the list updated! Without 'waiting' for the list to update, apparently this software will not work, and web pages will not load, or will display errors or display alternate sites that were not entered. This software is still rubbish, and it does not work! [alert admin]

Entourage Email Archive 1.9 (Mac OS X)
I've tried this application a few times because I think that it would be good to see how it is. Unfortunately though it doesn't work, and each time i have tried, I continually get error messages about certain preference files that cannot be found. These preferences should simply be written as soon as I first launched it too, and they aren't there, so naturally i think that this app is rubbish. [alert admin]

File Buddy 8.0b4 (Mac OS X)
This newest beta version has to be forced quit, as it displays a spinning beach ball after you choose a function, so keep the previous one if you have it. I don't want be nagged like those poor Windoze users are, but unfortunately now though, this version of File Buddy will display a stupid warning first if you try to erase the unuse space of the hard drive. This warning should be able to be disabled or kept in the user guide only. [alert admin]

LockOut X 4.5.3 (Mac OS X)
Panther Has This Feature Already
This application should definitely be free because Panther has this feature already built in. I never log out, and I simply lock my screen when I walk away from my Macs. Go to System Preferences>Security, and then tick 'require password to wake this computer from sleep or screensaver,' and then either put your Mac to sleep, timed sleep or launch the screen saver, and the screen will be locked when you get back I have also found that it works better than LockOut with other apps left on when I walk away, while LockOut has crashed forcing a restart to get back in...no thanks. VolumeInfo 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I tried to download this 6 times using various browsers, and the first time I was able to mount the disk, but it seemed only half downloaded, so the application didn't launch. The next five times, the disk image would not mount and I received an error when I tried again to get a full copy. I think that six times was more that enough attempts to try to use this application, so I will say that it does not perform as it is described because I am unable to even try it [alert admin]

VideoCapture 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I tried this application three times, and each time all I get is the spinning beach ball, and what's worse that I can't even force quit! I had to log out, throw the prefs out and try again, and yet again it happened, and it is the only app I have that does this, and I keep my Panther well maintained as well! Into the rubbish bin it went where it belongs. [alert admin]

I've enjoyed the few times that I have used this app, and i've had no worries with everything that is advertised. I don't use it too much, but I'm yet to experience an app crash yet. [alert admin]

Adobe InDesign CS 3.0 (Mac OS X)
InDesign keeps getting better, and I enjoy using it in Panther. Maybe the next release will mean that we can all give Quark Xpress the flick for good! :-) [alert admin]

Although not perfect as listed below, Illustrator is a great application, and works quickly in Panther. Freehand has not been updated for Panther as yet, and that is disappointing. [alert admin]
