Wacom Pen Tablet 5.01-3 (Mac OS X)
Says it is for OSX 10.4.9... WTF, Mac OSX is only on 10.4.8...How can you have a driver for an OS version that is not even released yet. Must be a typo. [alert admin]

Guitar Shed 2.9.9.5 (Mac OS X)
The main feature I want to use guitar shed for does not work (never has), with my presonus firebox audio recording interface. It seems there is a bug/problem getting external audio interfaces (not just the firebox) to get recognized by the tuner. I know they are trying to fix it and get it to work but how hard can it be. Its ridiculous to sell a product that does not work, and its not like I am using some cheapo input device. [alert admin]

WireTap Pro 1.2.0 (Mac OS X)
WireTap Pro is a so so app. My main problem with it is they are sooooo slow on updates. If a quicktime update comes out and breaks it, expect to wait for a while till they come up with an update so you can use it again. It also records (at least it did up until I stopped using it) your system sounds as well. So if your mail makes a ding sound for example, it will come out on your recording. It is also more expensive than audio hijack which is far superior. Not a terribly bad program, there is just better out there. Plus, as you read here and in other posts they drag their feet terribly with updates. [alert admin]

CrossOver 6.0b1 (Mac OS X)
I downloaded this to try it out and internet explorer didnt even work. I tried it on a MacBook Pro. Maybe I gave up to easy on it. But if IE wont work properly and I have to contact support after less than 5 minutes after install, than I will pass on something that cost $40.00. It may be good for others but I run a business on my mac and do not have time to fuss around. Id rather spend the extra and get something that works from the get go. [alert admin]

I got this application (CD Spin Doctor) as part of Roxios "The Boom Box" software. And once again they want you to pay for this update. This is ridiculous seeing the only major thing added is that it is universal. Also, there is no upgrade price. It cost $39.99 for the download version which is almost what I paid for the entire suite of apps. in the boom box. Talk about a greedy company!!!! [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This is an awesome program. I am constantly reading about the nightmares users go through with the other font management software that is supposed to make things easier for you and have your computer run smoothly BUT do just the opposite. Much like a Mac, FontExplorer X just works. It has been nothing but smooth sailing from installing the app., its plug-ins, to using it. I love the ability to be able to color code sets! I color code my folders in the finder to distinguish between design projects and now I can do it with my sets of fonts that correspond to them. Awesome, Paul [alert admin]

These guys make great visualizers but the prices on all their products are a little too high.

Well they finally did it right and released an update of CD spin doctor for us boombox users:) http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/boombox/software_updates.html Out of fairness I was trying to remove my earlier dissatisfied comments about there not being an update for us but could not figure out how to do it. "It works fine but the applications in Office are really *slow* to boot and close, not to mention running. " I have not done this update yet, but just so you know my version that is previous to the update opens REALLY SLOW as well. I think it is just the way it is with this app. especially Word.. QuarkXpress opens ten times faster and is ten times more powerful of a program. I am guessing…

FYI, Freehand is not a desktop publishing application. So you really should not compare it to Quark. It is a vector drawing program like illustrator. (your correct about it being an unnecessary step to have to make a text box THEN select the text tool. I wish they changed that as well but you have to realize a lot of people are used to that having used it for many many years.)

As you said "It pops in an out of existence as needed; you don't need to keep it running" You could not be more correct, This app. does its job without me even knowing it's there. I have had nothing but positive results with it. And it is Free.

I was thinking of buying this, but not now. (and I hope the developer reads this!). If I pay for something and an update of the product it is supposed to work with makes it no longer stable or functional than I expect a quick update. Thats the reason I stopped using wiretap and switched to audio hijack. They took way to long to update their software every time a quicktime update broke it. I guess…

It only took me about a day and a half to do 4,000 songs. And it was well worth it to be able to generate great mix's. I am using ver 1.7b3 now and it seems to work fine. Album art shows up and all. Also the developers are quick to respond to any problems I had so you may want to try emailing them about your issue. Also, The two annoying bugs I found in ver…

I agree with you fully. I installed version 10.0 when Tiger came out and it works fine. Never had a problem. It is if it is not even there it just does what it is supposed to do, uncompress files. Its free and I have never been nagged by unsolicited email from them. I use Tigers built in zip to compress my files for I do freelance graphic design for companies that use windows. But when…
