ControllerMate 4.1 (Mac OS X)

Most amazing thing of its kind

I bought a Dynex (you've never heard of it) keyboard from best buy. This thing has NO mac support whatsoever. ControllerMate mapped all 19 extra buttons on the keyboard, as well as swapped the option + command key to match a mac keyboard. NO OTHER PROGRAM COULD DO ALL THIS. This cheapo keyboard now runs like it was made for a mac, and the money I saved over a microsoft/logitech more than paid for this awesome program. I look forward to using its algorithm designer later. This program makes it fun and easy to do incredible things to maximize productivity. [alert admin]

Fugu 1.1.0 (Mac OS X)

OMG it works

After trying to use panther's finder as a front-end for FTP (oh god the pain), I tried to use this free one instead. Panther's FTP client sucked as much as this FTP client ruled, and that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. [alert admin]

Ram Disk Creator 1.0 Beta (Mac OS X)

Works great! except where you need it..

I've heard there are big problems with RAM disks in 10.3, and kudos to the author on the interface and success with this thing.

I wanted this thing so I could put safari's cache in the RAM (for security and performance reasons).

It's probably a problem with safari, but I couldn't link it or alias it to ~/Library/Caches/Safari and have safari use it.

Maybe if the author would allow us to set the mounted disk name instead of the mounted directory (ram1285.2 or whatever), it'd work, but until then I can't use this thing. Also, it'd be nice to mount the volume in /Volumes/ instead of as a disk image.. So it's minus two stars for today! [alert admin]

AlchemyTV DVR 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Great support!

I told them about the iChat bug just two weeks ago, and they verified the bug and promised a fix in "two weeks." On time and as promised, it's sad that this is enough to give 5 stars these days, but at this point that's more than I could've hoped.. Thanks Miglia! [alert admin]

FocusFixer 1.3.4 (Mac OS X)

It works!

I have a DP800 running 10.3 and this thing really, really works (no crashes or anything).. I'm truly amazed at how far image filtration technologies have come.. But I'm not paying any $57 for it.. that's like 1/5 the cost of a PS upgrade :P [alert admin]

It sucks cuz it's too expensive...

.. NOT.. Go back to the commune, hippies! Next you'll be saying that photoshop is too expensive or cars cost too much or .. or.. BURN THE ESTABLISHMENT!

I've seen res knife, resurrection, resedit, sorcerer, and all the rest of the junk.. none of them do squat as well as Resorcerer, even though some of them still OS 9! Sure, I can't afford it (work could though!), but if I needed it, it'd be worth every penny. [alert admin]

Forget these clowns, TRY it

It works with my DP 800 on 10.2.8 using a canon DV cam.. More features than any other webcam program I've ever seen, like live crop! SIMPLE interface, features categorized, not arbitrary buttons on some stupid toolbar. Optional floating window monitor, and support for my camera! I'm not paying for it (I'll use it as long as the shareware lets me), but if I really needed a webcam that bad I'd buy it in a second.

it just plain works [alert admin]
