Acquisition allows you to be part of a public network, which broadcasts your public ip address. It is well known that the RIAA probes both the gnutella and fasttrack network for users sharing copyrighted information, and then sends a warning.... and perhaps follows through with legal action. Software applications such as Poisoned have build in features that block these known hosts from being able to scan your computer, but there are no guarantees.…
