LaCie Update Tool 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)

No apparent problems here

Running a d2 extreme on an Intel Core Duo 2 iMac, attached via Firewire and running 10.4.9. Needed to be unplugged and replugged to mount, all files appear to be present and correct. [alert admin]

KidLock 1.0 (Mac OS X)

My 3 year old loves it

Sits there and paints with it for at least half an hour. Shame the developer seems to have gone awol though. [alert admin]

Apple Airport Extreme Update 2007-002 (Mac OS X)

No problems here

Update went fine. I now have one more bar on my signal strength gauge, though that may be coincidence. (iMac Core 2 Duo) [alert admin]

Live link for the demo?

Anyone know where you can find the demo? All links on the Net appear to be outdated. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 10.1.8 (Mac OS X)

No apparent problems

Haven't tested every element, but update appeared to go smoothly. Thanks MS for keeping the older (and IMHO, excellent) v.X version updated. [alert admin]

Acquisition 132.1 (Mac OS X)

No longer shareware?

I'm not sure if this is a glitch in the developer's site, but downloading now requires a paypal payment. Looks like it has changed from shareware. [alert admin]

Acquisition 131.2 (Mac OS X)

Works fine for me

Amazing degree of disagreement about this product. All I can say is, it finds stuff for me, it downloads stuff for me (the bittorrent seems to work better than the official client). Moreover the UI really is nice. Plus you get to try it for free, though of late the nags have become more insistent. I agree the lack of documentation/support forums is a bit irksome. I'd love to know what the two tints of blue of the download progression bar means. But I can live with that. Recommended. [alert admin]

Google Earth 4.0.1563.0 (Mac OS X)

Seems significantly faster on the G4 iMac

Is much - to coin a phrase "snappier", and the UI is cleaner. Recommended highly. [alert admin]

Google Earth 3.1.0617.0 (Mac OS X)

Still a lot slower than the PC version

On an 800Mhz G4 iMac with 512M RAM it is still considerably slower than my old work Dell Laptop with a slower Pentium. Hopefully just a case of the beta not having all the optimisations on and all the debugging code out. Thanks to Google for making this available on the Mac. [alert admin]

Jeez

I'm not sure that was the wisest of responses.

Shutdowns Without Warning

Surprising as it may seem to you, some people - even outside of the CIA - may have company confidential data on their laptop, or even confidential customer data on it.

C'Mon apple!!!

Ummm, Tradtional HTML tables are absolutely fine where you want your Web page to incorporate - yes you've guessed it - a table. We're not talking about tables as a way of creating designs here.

C'Mon apple!!!

As a matter of interest, how did you do that on iWeb 1? I'm still using that program and can't see a way to create tables. But would love to.

Tried the CUPS interface?

discussions.apple.com is probably the best place to go for help, but two things spring to mind... 1. Find and delete every printer-related plist you can find. 2. Try using the build in Web-based print management interface by going to: http://127.0.0.1:631/ You may be asked for a username and password - that's an admin user shortname you need in there.

Seems to resolve volume problem on 20" Intel iMac

Same here, volume reduced, and a double restart. No obvious problems with Safari 3 beta, though.

Identical problem here...

... you don't actually need to restart though, (well, I don;t ) logging out seems to do the business.

Definitely better

24 hours later, the signal strength is definitely better and the connection quality is better. This is connecting to an old Airport Extreme. Good job.

NO DTMF support . . . so ONE star

Just because the issue isn't important to you, doesn't mean it is not important. I agree with the original poster. I've been waiting to get this working with the DTMF on AT&T's conferencing system forever now.
