iDefrag 1.6.8 (Mac OS X)

Bull Sh*T

I paid for this application in a painful way, not just the price of a copy. I left a follow up comment of my detailed experience with it. I guess the the maker and/or versiontracker didn't like my totally rational comment and concerns, so they deleted them. Part of what I said was leaving a warning that was on their very web site but in my own words. I personally would like to know if an application has the potential to do damage to my computer. So I was doing a favor for other users, that's what comments and reviews are for. I guess we'll just have to do google searches from now on the get the truth about an application. [alert admin]

iDefrag 1.6.8 (Mac OS X)

I don't know.

I bought this a long time ago. I did a full defrag on my Master while booted in the slave. A month later my brand new Master HD fried and took my Slave drive with it. I had a year old external HD so you know the rest of that story. So I'm sure this app didn't do the damage, but now I'm sorta afraid of it now. They keep fixing issues, so that means it's still beta to me. When it's a final product, I might try it again, but I didn't notice any speed improvements like the old Norton utilities defrag used to do years ago, and it didn't fully defrag, like putting ALL the colors where they go, but mostly it did. It was just sorta taking out the free space and compacting the drive. Even if an app does damage, the maker will never fess up to it. There is one application I trust, SuperDuper, because it's an Awesome finished stable bootable cloning application. Just using that actually defrags, then you clone back to the master drive and there you have it. I'm not shooting iDefrag down, it just scares the hell out of me, and always has. I'm not sure if they have a detailed PDF manual that explains in easy terms on what the different operations do and how to use them, but I'll go look for it. [alert admin]

LimeWire 5.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Back step

I get the free pro versions, and even though I got version 5 AND have a new intel mac, I can't figure out how this works. No search results come up, and they totally trashed the UI. So I went back to version 4.8.18 pro or whatever it is. Don't feel bad about this version 5, it's total unusable trash. Some arrogant geek idiot thought that he would totally redo EVERYTHING and screwed up big time. He should be cleaning toilets instead of coding. I can't even figure out how to use version 5, so I trashed it, and I'm not going back. I gave it like a dozen tries and days of my time. I should bill them. [alert admin]

FileZilla 3.2.3-rc1 (Mac OS X)

No thanks, I'm good

I used Fetch for years, now I just used SimpleFTP, it's very fast at connecting and is very user friendly. It's just fun to use. I actually paid real money for it, which is very rare for me. When really great apps come out I always pay for them. Apps like SimpleFTP, CopyPaste, SuperDuper, Overflow. I'm sure there's a couple dozen others. There's like a dozen or so different FTP apps, do we really need to reinvent the wheel. [alert admin]

iAntiVirus Free Edition 1.35 (Mac OS X)

Freeware, where?

Thanks UmarOMC1 for the heads up that this really isn't FREEWARE. It charges you 29.00 a year for support and updates. That's just low man. iClamXav does the same as this troublesome app but with daily updates and it's true freeware. It runs smooth too. It actually picks up things others miss. I don't use it anymore because it wasn't automatic enough. You have to check everything manually that you downloaded, which was not all that bad, but I'm getting lazy as I get older. I use Norton and it works just fine for me, no slow downs, no problems, updater works great, background works great, and I think it was free, arrrgh. [alert admin]

FLV Crunch 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Byte me then

Well my review was deleted so here's a comment. It would be nice to have an app like this, but I didn't like the web site I was taken to and the dozen cookies it tried to install just to download a freeware app. Firefox prevented a pop up window too. So I lost all trust in the app and even downloading the app to even try it. [alert admin]

WTF over

You talking to me punk ass. I've had severe tinnitus for 16 years now 24/7, and yes, I did try this piece of Sh*t application a few times. So how are you connected with the maker of this "application" because it's clear that you are over reacting. I'm a disabled Vietnam Vet and Grandfather of 5. Have a little respect for your elders, or didn't your parents raise you well.

Damn-doesnt actually pull them off uToob

If your using FirFox, you can get the free plug-in called downloadhelper, it's easy to use. If your using Safari, there's a couple standalone apps that you can pick up for free from demonoid.com or you can buy them. Then you can download from YouTube and many other places, and there's always snapz pro for the flash player web videos.

How do you know.

Duh

I'm sorry I didn't know you were my son. I was a Rock-n-Roller and your Mother was a one night stand, if that. I never even asked what her name was. You're just one of the many kids I don't know about, don't blame me, your Mother was chasing me.
