DockFun! 4.7 (Mac OS X)
I can see great potential but if it does not give me a decent amount of time to see if I can use it in my workflow without interrupting me with "buy, buy, buy" reminders, I won't be be pulling out my credit card. I found it easy to set up, but I have found a few quirks, but honestly can't say whether they were caused by the nag popups interfering with the workflow. An example, I opened Aperture through DockFun, quit it, and then tried to open it again through Dockfun — no way! Neither the menu or dock option would work. [alert admin]

Daylite 3.0b3 (Mac OS X)
I'm a longtime user of Daylite [nearly 3 years] and I've held off rating Daylite 3 until this third Beta. It is a winner, and the quantum improvements with each beta indicate the final release is going to be something special I'm using it in a busy production evinronment [since beta 1, but with regular backups] and am loving it. Sure there are things to be fixed for the final version [particularly in the calendar area] but each beta gets stronger. The support response is almost immediate, depending on time zone, and always helpful. Requested improvements are taken seriously and often incorporated in the next beta. I give it another bonus point for Palm integration. It simply works. [alert admin]

Yummy FTP 1.1.5 (Mac OS X)
I had been using Transmit for some time but got increasingly frustrated because it did not always transfer files in sub-folders accurately. There's always be one or two with 0 bytes, for example, or only half the files showing on the server. As I host and maintain a number of blog-driven sites, updating Expression Engine and Wordpress sites was becoming a big pain as I'd have to cross check folder after folder. I tested an update with Yummy on one site and it simply did the job. It has since performed flawlessly. I can actually 'trust' it. The developer's feedback and response is always positive and prompt. Transmit X 2.5.1 (Mac OS X)
As webmaster for more than 50 small clients I use Transmit several times a day and it has the best interface ever. Select a client, their files open in the left window, select by date, drag across. Job done. And in this new version it is blisteringly fast. Support is excellent too. [alert admin]

VueScan 7.5.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Try support@hamrick.com - the address is there on the support page. Having just upgraded to Jaguar I experienced absolutely no problems using my Nikon LS-1000. I gave up on the Nikon software years ago. [alert admin]

Eudora 5.1 (Mac OS 9)
to upgrade to version 5.0.1 of Eudora, now I am being asked for another $US29.95 for this upgrade because I was an early supporter more than 12 months ago. What's the time limit goto to do with it? If I stumbled onto the product less than 12 months ago the upgrade would have free. You've lost a longtime user through this greedy approach. There are good alternatives out there. [alert admin]

Mailsmith 1.1.8 (Mac OS 9)
to date I get the feeling that folks like Mailsmith but are baulking at the price -- and I've got to agree. I bought the original Mailsmith which I abandoned for a number of reasons for Eudor, but having played with Mailsmith v1.5 I am willing to come back, but not at that price. [alert admin]

to improve - incremental version by version. If Jeff Mincey and others don't like the frequency, why don't they just ignore it? This version, 7.4, is yet another big leap forward, in usability and particularly, end results. Get real guys. [alert admin]

I saved heaps of disk space when using Eradicator. A word of advice for those having difficulty starting up under 9.0.4 - simply up the memory setting to about 16000K the first time. I had 1286 files sitting there, the journey was worth it. [alert admin]
