LaCie Silverlining Pro 6.4.8a (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I bought a D2 160GB fw400. Disk mounts, but does not accept data. Disk Utility Apple freezes everytime I want to do low level format. So I looked for LaCie tools. What a ridiculous company! They claim to be Mac harted. But do not have an os-X tool.... To update the software you need os-9. I do not use os-9 for more than 1 year... This silverlining should NOT be in this section. This is os-9 stuff. I hope I can return my LaCie for a Maxtor or other disk that will work. I heard a lot of complaints regaring disks (any brand) exceeding 120GB with os-X)... [alert admin]

Now Up-to-Date & Contact X 4.2.6 (Mac OS X)
in the CRM business for 12 years (so long before it was called CRM and was named contact management). My first contact with these systems was ACT 1.0 for system 7. Up to now NO contact manager has beaten this app. Now-Contact/ Personal Organizer/ etc. you name them I tested them. There is simply no good contact manager for the Mac. 4 years I supported the decision at the company where I worked for to kill our Mac product because Apple had proven again to be an unreliable technology partner. First they dropped Open Doc without warning to the partners, and then Newton. Gone where millions of investment. Now in the year 2002 there many good contact managers for Windows that have the real functionality to quickly generate mail, email, call and log them automatically. Act, Saleslogix, SuperOffice, Commence etc. They all look great with a real user friendly user interface. Now I am writing a review on PIMs/CRM/Contactmanagers for the Mac. It is realy a sad sad story to see that in over 10 years nothing has happened. Now-contact is popping windows like hell; Personal organizer is lacking good logging of documents (for everylink one has to link manually events) etc etc. A few good systems in sense of functionality are a blamage for interface design. They have those uggly icons which where great in 1988 when we were happy to have an icon in stead of DOS commando's. In short... Apple do something about this and create a commercial app which is a good contact manager w [alert admin]

Halime 0.6.8 (Mac OS X)
explanation it now works. The general settings and server I found myself, but the subscription idea is totally new and imho not intuitive. But once the settings are made (hide the useless tabs; add buttons to toolbar) the app is really very very usefull for reading newsgroups. Perhaps make the app a little more easy to set up (wizzard) and then call it iNews ;-) [alert admin]
