Massive Mail 1.1.6 (Mac OS X)

More Software for Spammers

Just what we need. Spammers have enough help without software that facilitates the process. [alert admin]

Cornerstone 1.1.4 (Mac OS X)

Come on, folks.

Nowhere does the information tell me what Cornerstone is or what Subversion does. I guess if I have to ask, I don't need it, right? Alan C [alert admin]

MacSudoku 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Needs up grade

The latest version that I have is 3.0.2 which doesn't seem to be listed in VersionTracker. I would like it MUCH better if it would only allow copying and pasting of the marks/guesses into desired squares. This has been pointed out to the author, but he has not fixed this non-Mac like feature. Alan B. Combs [alert admin]

It does not work on Tiger, or earler systems. Not so very useful to check out my computer. [alert admin]

Did not have a good experience with You Synchronize

I had several problems with You Synchronize. First, I have my away hard disk divided into partitions. The drag and drop window did not work when I mounted these partitions at home. It turns out to be necessary to mount the root volume to get this to work. The support people didn't have a clue how to help me; I discovered it myself. Second, the sofware apparently synchronizes folder contents, rather than specific files. When you set up a folder, you have to exclude all the files in the folder (both away and home), leaving only the file you want synchronized unspecified. This is a problem with Eudora which can have hundreds of files and folders. Why cannot one specify only the file to be synchronized as seems reasonable? Third, using the program to synchronize Apple's Address Book eventually resulted in a massive loss of data. I have no idea what happened. It may be that Address book considers the data to be changed when you open the program. Sadder, but wiser. Alan B. Combs [alert admin]

Alternatively ...

When you finally figure your way through the various screens to get to the download, you discover it costs $20.
