MacPilot 3.3.9 (Mac OS X)
Launches in Mac OS X 10.4, but will be dropping support soon.
Received from developer: "While it may launch on 10.4, we cannot guarantee compatibility for features. Some may or may not work, however none should remotely cause your system to become corrupt. We will post a final version for 10.4 in the near future. We've only just changed the requirements as we're dropping 10.4 shortly." [alert admin]

IPNetMonitorX 2.5c3 (Mac OS X)
Dropped support for Mac OS X 10.4
In spite of what it currently says above and on the developers download page, this version requires Mac OS 10.5 or above. Here' the note I got back from them..."Yes, 2.5.x requires 10.5 or later, sorry about the omission on the download page. In order to fix some of the tools to work on 10.6, it became difficult to remain 10.4 compatible." [alert admin]

MagiCal 1.1r2 (Mac OS X)
This version crashes on launch using Mac OS X 10.3.9
I sent a crash report to the developer and got the following response: "Hmmm, I've got to admit I don't actually have any Panther machines to test with, so it's possible that it doesn't work on OS 3.x any more." "You might be better off reverting to the previous version since there are no new features other than Snow Leopard support." [alert admin]

RCDefaultApp 2.1 (Mac OS X)
This version does not work with Panther
Could not use this on my Panther machine. Developer has been notified and responded, in part, as follows: "... there is no new functionality for Panther users in this release, except for the Spanish localization (which could be copied in manually if it is important). There is a new feature for 10.4, and more for 10.5+. It did work on 10.4, as I tested that successfully." "...I'll look at it when I get the chance, which may not be for several days." [alert admin]

EasyFind 4.5 (Mac OS X)
Doesn't work with Mac OS 10.4.11 on my iMac G5
Launches fine, but won't open a window. At least four other people are having the same problem on both PPC and Intel platforms using 10.4.11. [alert admin]

Adobe Flash Player 10.0.22.87 (Mac OS X)
If you need update to Flash Player 9
Took a lot of searching through the Adobe site, but I finally located the 9.0.159.0 for Mac OS versions older than 10.4.x: <http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb406791&sliceId=1>. Does not include an installer, so you must quit your browsers and drag the two files to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ . This fixes the current flash security concerns. [alert admin]

Received a note back from the developer: We've heard a few similar reports. This is our highest-priority issue right now; I'm hopeful that we'll be able to get a fix out in the next week or so.

Sorry, I spoke out of turn. The FAQ and release notes have not been updated yet. Elsewhere it says "Mac OS X 10.5/10.6, Safari 3.1-4.0+ On Snow Leopard, in 32 bit mode only." Probably still won't work on a PPC Mac. Be aware that the installer doesn't tell you any of this and it will upgrade a PPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.4 with no warning.

1.11.3 is not an SL release. From the FAQ "Cooliris is not yet compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard renders Cooliris inoperable on Safari, and disables Adobe Flash on our Firefox (Mac) version. Snow Leopard also disables the ability for Cooliris to auto-update you on the Safari browser later on, even after a compatible version becomes available. If you'd like us to notify you when a compatible version of Cooliris…

You have correctly surmised that the 4.0.1 update was only for Leopard users. Tiger folks get the old 4.0 version from the download site. That's also why Tiger users with Safari 4.0 don't see Safari in Software Update.

Again, no explaination about what's new in this version.
His web page always tells us what's new.
