File Juicer 4.15 (Mac OS X)
I have this software and it's very good, however, I can't figure out why I have version 4.98, and the latest version is version 4.15. Are we going back in time or something??? Or did the developer just goof and mis-number what should have been 5.15? Anybody know? [alert admin]

Too Expensive, try Scrivener instead
This is $116.70, and doesn't seem to do as much as Scrivener which only costs $39.95. I'd look at Scrivener if I were you. It's an excellent program and only costs 34% as much! [alert admin]

Apple Security Update 2007-009 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Some posts here are totally ridiculous. I had huge problems with the original install of Leopard, but didn't get on here to rant about it, I probably made some stupid little mistake myself that caused the problem. There is NOTHING WRONG with this security update. As a previous responder has stated, the person complaining should have adequate disk space before installing ANY update. Please stop bringing down Apple's rating on an update that HAS NO FLAWS. How do I know that? I've installed it on three Macs. One has Tiger running, two have Leopard running, two are desktops, one is a laptop, two are G4 systems, one is a G5 system. All of them installed with no problem and the computers worked fine afterwards. They are large downloads, but do not take anywhere near half a day. I think all downloaded (separately) within a half hr or so. (Of course, this is with a cable modem, not a telephone line (dial up service). Apple rocks, and, yes, we still have to play it smart ourselves & have backups etc. even though Apple is great, they cannot predict & prevent every possible condition known to man. Give them a break, and let's not hear such loud complaining, please! [alert admin]

Vine Server 2.2 (Mac OS X)
I know some people who read this are going to say "if you don't know what the abbreviations stand for, then you probably shouldn't bother with it," BUT, I still think developers of programs should spell out what their program does in "lay" terms, so everyone who stumbles on their program will learn something new. I don't know what VNC stands for. I can speculated the VN is virtual network, but haven't a clue about the "C" part of it. Many programs on VersionTracker have this feature, which I consider to be a MAJOR fault, that if you're not extremely technical, you have NO idea what the hell the app is for. I'm saying this not as some "newby", but as a Mac user since 1986, and I think as a Power User. Although most of my Power is based on knowing how to use hundreds of apps, I'd still like to know what some of these exotic apps actually do - as should be laid out in their description on the main page here. Thanks for reading, and more thanks if you actually take my request seriously and impliment it. DB [alert admin]

proofSIGN 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
This web page has some font problems or something related wrong. I can't tell what the price is - it looks like 346 pounds, but there's some symbol like an umlauted capital A in front of that, so I don't know what that means, plus it'd be nice to have the amount in US dollars. Also, later on the page I saw at least one other umlauted A. So there needs to be some correction here. [alert admin]

I've used GraphicConverter for years, and it's fantastic. It also has hundreds of options that I don't know what to do with or what they even stand for. If I had a problem with it, I'd read the manual. DON'T cause a great product to lose it's rating because you're too uninformed to figure out what to do ! ! ! That's a terrible thing to do to these people who work so hard to make the best graphics program out there, esp. at a reasonable cost ! Please retract your poor rating, read the manual, and write to the developer for help if you need it, but don't backstab these people!! [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.2.1 (Mac OS X)

I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines while others complain for me. The last 2 or 3 versions of VersionTracker have been lousy ! I'm paying for this, why can't you guy get it right? With version 4.2 I didn't see the 30 min scanning time others have complained of, but now I do, with the "improved" version 4.2.1 ! ! Why can't this program get things straight? I have FileMaker Pro Advanced v8, yet this program tells me I need to update from 8.03 to 8.04. Well, newsflash: there is NO 8.0.4 for FileMaker Pro Advanced, it is only for FileMaker SERVER !! These are different programs guys, please straighten out your programs ability to discriminate one program from another! Also, what's up with all the Omni programs? When I download OmniWeb, or OmniOutliner, or OmniGraffle Pro, I get a small 4 kb .dmg file that cannot be read nor opened!?? THEN to add insult to injury, your program (VersionTracker) puts a check mark next to my software in the list, as if I had downloaded and upgraded when what I got did NOT work!? Also, Printer Setup Repair tells me I need to upgrade from version 4.18 to 4.23. The only problem with that is I've already upgraded to version 5.0.5, so what's up with your program that it doesn't a) realize there's a version later than 4.2.3, and b) also doesn't recognize that version 5.0.5 is more recent than 4.2.3 ??? Please fix this junky program! RE-hire your top programmer if you fired him or something like that, if not, get someone better at programming than you have now!! (or more support staff so he/she doesn't have to answer the phone, or WHATEVER you have to do!!!!) [alert admin]

Your review says you are reviewing version 1.5, then in your review you state that you don't have version 1.5. This is very unfair to other potential customers, and to the product, to have your review registered as relating to the current product, but for it to actually be based on the previous one! Please ask versiontracker to remove your review, or re-label it as related to whatever version you ARE using. I…

Why don't you elaborate a little? When you just say your experience was horrible, that doesn't help the rest of us at all, We need to know what was wrong! Did the app crash, did you lose data, did it just have an ugly user interface look to it, did it call your mother names? Give us a clue, please!

No insult intended, but isn't it about time to upgrade your OS? At least, since you waited so long, now you'll jump all the way from 10.3 to 10.5 for the same price as 10.3 to 10.4 would have cost. If 10.5 requires more speed than your hardware has, there are cheap chip upgrades to speed it up. Also, an advantage you have now, with version 10.5.1, is you missed…

What on Earth started your anti-Macintosh/Apple Inc. rant?? Office is one of the most horrible creations ever made, and you go off on how Apple & Steve Jobs are just shining us stupid consumers off by slight of hand and fooling us with gimmicks?? I use Office and both Macs & PC's also, and I know why PC's are called PC's - because they are pieces of crap! To me…

This is not a relevant comment, their program does NOT just do biomedical, as it goes to Google Scholar, which in general has TOO LITTLE in the way of medical info, and is more oriented to all the academic disciplines except medicine.

I don't understand your comments about MultiLedger being a feature incomplete and poorly supported product, as here on VersionTracker they have multiple reviews, and they have a 5 star rating. Would you please elaborate? Thanks.

I think the present behavior of Spaces is just fine. I just group all my applications that use the internet together (like Mail, Safari, etc.) in the same space (so if I click on a link in Mail, I don't have to move to another space to see the link open in Safari). I put all my music related into another space (like iTunes, Hijack Pro, etc), and all my business related into another space…
