Connect360 3.2.3 (Mac OS X)
Movies only play back from internal drive.
I want to play back movies form an external dedicated hard drive. Connect360 does not seem to allow this, it will only play back movies that are stored on the internal drive of my iMac. Is there a way to play back movies from an external drive, or am I out of luck on this one. BTW, I have emailed this question to the developer about half a dozen times. They do not seem to be all to interested to respond and support their software, since I have not received a response from them. [alert admin]

This program is completely and utterly useless! It will not let me connect to any of the so called free proxy services. So it does not give the anonymity it promises. And even though this is clearly a mac version of the program, the only documentation available is for Windows. Hey folks, if you are going to write Mac software and provide documentation, you may want to consider doping this for the Mac also. In the trash with it! [alert admin]

Easy download, easy install. Please note, that this program does not install as an application, but as an item under "Other" in "System Preferences". Don't know how to uninstall this program, which I want to do, because it does not work properly, and I can't seem to be able to make it work. The demo worked fine, but it does not tell you what you are going to get, because it is limited to 100 songs and 100 photos. No movies. Since I am only interested in the photos and movies part, that demo was not very useful to me. I can see and play all my music. But it does not recognize my playlists, you have to make your own on the XBox. I can see all my photos, but I cannot play my slide shows correctly. For instance, Connect360 tells me that I have 3500 photos in a slide show that only has 19 photos in iPhoto. And in the slide shows that it does display correctly, with the corect number of photos, it rearranges all of them for me, in a way I don't want. It plays the photos in the wrong order, because it rearranges the order alphabetically, which is not the order of my photos in the slide shows. This cannot be changed. Connect360 on the XBox, does not see any of my over 80 movies, even though they are set up to be shared from my movie folder. And they are supposedly recognized by Connect360 on the Mac, according to it's "Status" dialog box. So now I have to figure out how to remove this program, since there is no manual, nor any useful instructions on the nullriver website. I rate price as poor, not because $20 is too much, for a working program, but it is clearly too much for a program that does not work as advertised, and has no available useful documentation. If anyone has any ideas how to make this program work properly, or how to uninstallit, I would very much appreciate hearing that. I also hear that the support from nullriver is exceptionally poor. Well, it only got worse. Now the program does no longer work at all. Under the "Status" tab, the "Discovered Devices" window is now empty. The program no longer sees my XBox, whether the console is turned on or not. And the XBox no longer sees my Mac. However, in the "Active Services" window, iTunes, iPhoto, and Movies are all reporting "Sharing is active, awaiting Xbox 360 connections". Unfortunately this means, that the…

It seems clear from people who have posted here as well as on macupdate.com, that I am not the only one having these problems. The fact, that they do not seems to support this app is very sad, but maybe this is a company with limited resources. A solution for them might be, if they would put up a forum for this on their site.
