MailSteward 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Does anyone know if MailSteward is enabled for Spotlight? I understand that it does incorporate its own (fast) indexing, search, retrieval, and printing... but does it also allow searching from within Spotlight? Would be very very useful if YES. [alert admin]

Matinee 1.2 (Mac OS X)
This is the kind of program you always wish someone would write. Instead of fumbling around trying to launch and configure a movie -- just launch, select and GO. WOW. This is the kind of software that makes using a Mac so wonderful -- and tip of the hat and THANKS to Abraham for his vision and talent. Matinee is a must-have for any harddrive based movie buff. ATI Displays 4.4.2f5 (Mac OS X)
WARNING - INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK ![]()

After installing this update I can no longer use System Prefs>Monitors>Color in the 'expert' mode to fine-tune the color and gamma on my 22" Cinema Display running on a Radeon 9800Pro Mac Edition under 10.3.6 The 'expert mode' wizard freezes when you attempt to adjust color or gamma at the first screen. Force quit not possible as it is a hard freeze requiring use of the power button to restart. ATI's latest (4.4.2) update is the suspected cause as the earlier update allowed fine tuning of the display, even after the 10.3.6 update wass applied. [alert admin]

ATI Radeon 9200 124 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Radeon 9800 Pro has the SAME PROBLEM!
Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition has the same problem with pixelated, artifacts appearing on the screen after screen sleep. Very annoying. Wrote ATI Tech support yesterday and they insist it is a 'configuration issue'. NOT SO. ATI -- PLEASE consider that your other MORE EXPENSIVE cards might have the same problems -- and same disappointed users. [alert admin]

Snail Mail 0.5.2 (Mac OS X)
Snail Mail is the perfect solution to a messy problem -- addressing envelopes and ensuring that you take advantage of automated pre-sorting that the USPS now does. AddressBook integration and a superb interface make this one of the most useful utilities around. [alert admin]

Footlights 1.1 (Mac OS X)
As the old saying goes -- it's easier to be critical than be right. Radical Breeze's Footlights is a simple elegant solution for creating and playing back video playlists. OK, its not iTunes. But the result is much the same. From knowing and loving DiscBlaze -- I can assure you that developer is innovative and responsive. It's unfortunate that a vocal few can stifle (or destroy) those who seek only to provide innovative, inexpensive solutions to real needs. In the past years, we've lost many developers because of this attitude. At a time when we need to encourage and support developers such as Radical Breeze -- it is far too easy to be critical. Radical Breeze's efforts deserve a fair trial -- contructive critique -- and support. I know they'll get mine. [alert admin]

System Optimizer X 4.5.3 (Mac OS X)
I've used SOX for over a year with excellent results: fewer stalls, crashes, and system wierdness. The developer has been responsive and continues to improve this essential utility. Yes there are many utilities out there for us GUI-lovin' non-Geeks -- and regardless of the cost (a whole $12!!!), SOX has time and again saved me that much time and aggravation. For my money -- and time -- System Optimizer rocks. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.0 beta 7 (Mac OS X)
Very disappointed in the new release graphically. Version 4.5 is far better -- cleaner, tighter icon display, much more pleasing. No matter how good version 5 is under the hood -- it really doesn't matter if you hate looking at the interface. BTW - I'm a multiple-license user of previous versions -- and have been for years. Try repairing permissions first. All Epson printers have a major problem with permission getting farkled... Utilities > Disk Utility > First Aid (select boot drive and hit REPAIR) You may need to authenticate to run. This may solve your problem with no further grief -- pease advise if not.
