Roxio Popcorn 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Waste of money

I paid for this product chosing the download option. Little did I realize that, once you reach the checkout page, you have *no* option for delivery except picking the UPS International Overnight. Since I had chosen download, I paid too little attention and wound up with an extra 26 EUR delivery charge. Together with the recommended backup disk, I paid more than 90 EUR. Once I had downloaded the software, I found it crashes EVERY time I try to boot it. I run System 10.4.10 on a Dual 2.7 GHz G5. I wonder if I'll get my money back .... My advice: Don't spend your's on this ripoff junk. [alert admin]

Spyder 1.4.13 (Mac OS X)

Not perfect, but best on the market

I don't agree with the other reviews. I manage several MySpace accounts, and I couldn't do it without Spyder. Updates are very frequent and free. Spyder makes some tasks a lot easier, for instance, by sorting "friends" alphabetically, a feature that MS itself is sorely lacking (ever tried to find a specific person in a friend list of maybe 1000 or more??). Very good implementation of Captcha security. Spyder mostly does a decent job, although I wish for some additional features. Specifically: - Implement updating New Friends only without having to synchronize the entire thing. - Mail feature still needs some work - particularly sorting mail by date. That is sorely lacking. - I wonder if there is any way to sort the friends list by date added. - Spyder should notice when comments are sent even if feedback data are lacking; lest you send multiple comments to the same account. - If you send a comment, there ought to be a way to see whether the receiving account accepts HTML. - There should be a way of listing your own accounts under the display name and/or a chosen name instead of the email only. That's confusing. Accounts should be vsible in a separate window instead of just in the menu. - Find a way of eliminating expired accounts from the request list. They just stay there, even if you decline them. - What on earth is the "Last Users Added" feature good for? Would be useful if it actually worked. Currently, I only use the "New Friends" feature, which is updated with every synch, dropping the previous adds. "Last users" should continually collect every add, sorted by date. More suggestions to come. [alert admin]

Mac Mass Mailer 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Spamming tool?

If this is a spamming tool - and it damn well looks like one to me - it shouldn't be distributed by VersionTracker. Help fight spam, instead of supporting it. [alert admin]

Internet Cleanup 4.0 (Mac OS X)

A nuisance

This program is a NUISANCE. I used AppZapper to deinstall it, but the "expired" widow keeps popping up at startup. As long as the program was installed, I would have had to purchase it first to uninstall it!! Any solutions? In any case, definitely NOT recommended for anyone, not even as a trial version. iTunesJoin 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Now functional - good product

The previous version didn't do anything most of the time. This one works, again. I don't regret pying for this at all. Great for operas, because the annoying gap between tracks is eliminated. [alert admin]

iTranslate 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Excellent tool

Lightning-fast, straight-forward translation tool, particularly useful for native German speakers. Simple, intuitive user interface. This no-nonsense product is highly recommended. On top of it all, it's free. [alert admin]

Waste of money

Oh, and Roxio does have a return policy. It doesn't, however, appear to apply to the additional "recommended" software or to the (superfluous) delivery charge. I certainly hope I'll be able to find a similar prdouct somewhere else. Roxio gets none of my money ever again.
