VLC media player 0.9.2 (Mac OS X)
- Forward/backward in video only works with the Full Screen bezel, not with the good old separate controls - When an avi is broken, cannot use keyboard to close the dreaded dialog that offers to fix - Got crash when I fiddled with the prefs and saved while full screen video was playing. Going to revert to older version if I can still find it. Current version is no good. [alert admin]

iLocalize 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Excellent product and responsive support ![]()

iLocalize caught my eye about a year ago. The first thing I did was localizing the app with the app, to get me started. Since that project that went flawlessly, iLocalize has just gained more tricks to make me productive. Yeah it costs money, but imo nothing ridiculous, and well worth it. I never needed any of the included documentation, but while I was localizing it I found it to be well written (includes a tutorial, simple flowcharts, FAQ) and helpful. The developer has proved himself as a responsive supporter of his product, aided by a group of beta testers and localizers that are all really into the product. [alert admin]

oXygen XML Editor 7.2 (Mac OS X)
oXygen helps you out whereever you would need it and stays out of your way if you don't. Just works as advertised and more. Rockstable, feature rich, and comes with a very responsive and knowledgable support team.
Only disadvantage is the always a tad slower Java underpinning. I'm using it under Windows XP and Mac OS X without hassle.

Mozilla Firefox 0.8 (Mac OS X)
Whoaw! Does Outlook Webaccess and certificates!
Great stuff, finally I can throw IE overboard! Safari has never been able to fullfill my Outlook Webaccess and certicate needs. I need to be able get rid of those dreaded self-sgined certificates, while at all times being able to see what certificate is active. Safari was also never able to do Outlook Webaccess due to login problems. Thank you very much! [alert admin]

Tried utilApache2 0.1.1 after that and it authenticated me fine. I'm on 10.2 6C115. I'll agree with the potential in the app. [alert admin]

DiskTracker X 2.2b6 (Mac OS X)
the data is in there, but to get it in there is a pain. Takes up to five minutes for a cd. Crashes often, for example when you try to set a Finder comment to a CD. No CDDB support as far as I could tell, so only for data. At this stage, I'd pay 10$ max, just as an encouragement for a stable, robust next version [alert admin]

Waiting for a Leopard friendly version ![]()

Even if this version were not to work on Leopard, which it does, it still the most Leopard friendly version to date. Give it a new try and after installation of GrowlMail, enter this in the Terminal, with Mail.app closed, to make sure: defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion -int 3 defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles -bool YES Worked for me. The installer in later beta versions did not adjust these settings properly. Possibly this was not fixed after it was…

Het woord 'bladwijzerbalk' is de officiƫle vertaling van Apple, maar ik ben blij dat jij weer in je eigen voorkeurstaal kunt werken. Als je nog opbouwende kritiek hebt, dan hoor ik het wel.

Being a Skype beta tester and Skype localizer, I can vouch for at least that part of the Skype development that the Mac-version is not the forgotten stepchild that greatcow951 thinks it is. He must be thinking of other apps. See also reply from srogers4_dotmac.

Skype has different versioning schemes for Windows/Linux/Mac. So a version does not always mean anything in relationship to the same version on another platform. That said, the Windows version is somewhat ahead of the other two platforms. This is mostly noticable in the Skype Prime service and Skype Live. Other than that the underlying technology is completely harmonized afaik. I'm personally quite glad they chose to create the better experience per platform instead of desparately trying to…

A better place to submit your bugs and issues would be the place where Skype is soliciting feedback on this beta version: https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/SCM You have a better chance getting your issue fixed if it is brought up in the right context.
