FileMaker Pro Advanced 9.0v2 (Mac OS X)
I find that the buttons of my databases are not filled in anymore so although the button works they're not labeled. Strange. It was working seconds earlier for the older version-- I removed the old preferences files in my user profile and they were back again. [alert admin]

Mocha MacX TN5250 1.8 (Mac OS X)
MochaSoft outright refused to add a little feature called..drumroll please... LANDSCAPE printing.. I was upset to get their curt response to my rationale- as for a better experience. Well its better than telnet into the server directly but some simple additions such as the above is needed. Still its cheaper than Cellview (not better). [alert admin]

Undercover 2.0 (Mac OS X)
I would like to say that this application works GREAT! But... There's no way to tell and no way to test it. So it could do absolutely nothing for you and nobody would know. The only way to tell if its actually working might be to have your laptop stolen and then attempt to recover it. Problem with that is that you'll be busting yourself if it DOES work. There should be some sort of way to see if this works - I upgraded to v.2 and I didn't even get a confirmation email of the update being successful- There's no internal IP/Port to hit for status or anything. All I CAN say is that I HOPE it's working as advertised. I'm being fair I think (I did buy a license because if it works then it'll more than pay for itself). [alert admin]

A couple of added things to this version of VMWare Fusion is support for DirectX 9.0 in WinXP SP2 and also my pet peeve of not remounting my BootCamp volume after closing Windows. Working smoothly under Leopard and appropriately takes advantage of up to 3680Mb of 4Gb installed RAM in my Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz. [alert admin]

Netscape X 9.0 (Mac OS X)
The extended beta period seems to have paid off. This is a better product than what was in beta and certainly better than what was offered previously. So far its on par with Firefox only plugins don't work. Strangely some partially work. This was a minor issue in beta and its still around but I can get around it. Leaving out the integrated chat and email has allowed for a lot of excess code cutting which was needed big time. Glad to see you back Netscape! [alert admin]

Flip4Mac WMV 2.1.3.5 (Mac OS X)
In my opinion the word BETA is used far too frequently on this site as released software. My suggestion is that BETA have its own tab at VersionTracker so I don't have to download the application to find out its not a supported release version. This is, however, a decent application in any form and pretty stable even in "beta" -cringe [alert admin]

Clan Lord 4.96 (Mac OS X)
Remember when Apple said they were serious about games on the Mac? Well they weren't thinking about this one- this is so bad you would have to be living in the world of OS 7 to think this was any good. Put it to rest, or give it away.. $79 for yearly access to online gaming? "Instant serial number and two months of play for only $24.95." Then rub rock salt and lemon juice in your eyes whilst peeling off the skin around your nipples with rusty pliers for a real treat! [alert admin]

CoRD 0.4.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been trying to purge my Mac of all Microsoft products- even the free ones like Remote Desktop.. The open source projects out there had been difficult to manage, settings would work one day and not the next. Finally CoRD comes along and nicely polishes the process the Macintosh way. The window mode is really nice and gives you a feeling of control where others drop the ball. This is a really useful project- thank you for your efforts! [alert admin]

NeoOffice 2.1 (Mac OS X)
I started trying this out when it was more- java-like and less Aqua. Then I tried out OOo and though it was good it was always a little buggy here and there. I try a lot of MS killer software and always hope for the one that will once and for all allow me to remove my copy of MS Office. I just never seem to be able to make the extra keystroke to delete the files. NeoOffice is a nice fit- though its not perfect and I like Word and Excel for some things this is the closest I've come to appreciating non-MS software and also to freeing up 500Mb of HD space. I purchased a license for this because I believe in the project. That being said I'll be as patient as need be- I use Parallels for most of my Windows work needs and BootCamp for some gaming. And really there is little need for running applications without Windows (for me). There are some flaky things that I would like to see resolved though. Should an install go wrong or if you would like to remove an application you're kind of stuck- you almost never fully get rid of programs once they're installed into a bottle- Unless you have time to edit the various files that keep record of those applications they will forever be a ghost in your program menu. Its often easier to throw the whole bottle away than to go the way of editing the necessary files. Beware - try to keep separate bottles for each install for just this reason. Want to get rid of Office XP and still want to keep IE running which you installed into the same bottle? There's your problem. The removal of Office would probably not completely go away and would remain visible as an application- cosmetic - purely.. but annoying to me. Otherwise I find this to be quite useful for those that need IE 6.0 to have very basic functionality (don't count on Flash working for you or even Windows Media Player). Support the project and you won't be sorry as long as you are sure of what you're getting. Its NOT as feature full as Parallels or VMWare but that's not really to purpose. A lot of stuff amazingly works using xwindows as a GUI but not enough for real use at this time. Keep up the good work guys! I'll continue to support your efforts on this noble work. [alert admin]

Sorry you had that experience. Bombich has been nothing but helpful to us and his apps have been around I believe before SuperDuper.. I remember doing some systems testing a long while back and using CCC to revert to saved versions of my HD. Its far more polished now and just as useful and well maintained. No bad reports here.

You essentially live my dream. I would love to dump MS Office for good- unfortunately I can't because of some small things that make writing so easy. I use Text Boxes and nothing really comes close.. they always seem to get messed up in an import and I've used lots of software like OOO and NeoOffice and Mellel (which I really like) as well as Pages. Pages is the closest but has…

I've begun compiling Intel only AND Universal builds.. Both are posted at this address. For support please go to the CUPS website.. They're really helpful and know more about the inner workings of CUPS than I do.

Lets not be mean to other people, folks.. This persons experience may be simply that, their experience. It is true that the software package is considerably larger than in the past. Now that the pieces depend of each other more (why did bridge need to be part of InDesigns install by default?) the default click through install can be colossal. If I create a slim OS X image for our company…

Are you trying to say that it doesn't support external iSight cameras? Because it works like a peach on my Macbook Pro's.

I found some games are overstating the amount of VRAM I have available. I'm currently playing Medal Of Honor: Pacific Assault.. Great game, very cinematic and looks great- but the specs in game say I'm running at 768Mb Video RAM. Imagine that!! Anyway I updated my ATI graphics driver with the latest OMEGA drivers. Looking good! I have a MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz, 2Gb RAM, 100GB HD, XPsp2 (32Gb partition- FAT32 formatted)…
