Nice game that actually requires some thought and a strategy. Simple to learn and play. Once you figure out how to win, the games is less interesting. [alert admin]

Med-Center 4.3.4 (Mac OS X)
Downloading was difficult but repeated efforts worked eventually. I have just started evaluating it for a solo psychology practice as a way to file claims electronically. It looks like everything is there to do this. But, the 4D drivers are quirky. The program locks my whole system up if I use the number pad. Clicking icons some doesn't work the first time; the icons blink but no new window. Setting up the basics is not obvious. I have to hunt looking for where things are. The interface looks simple but then there are lots of things to put in place. Overall I think I can make it work. I will report back on the outcome. I give it 4 stars for being free and being a complete package for a solo office. Nothing else like it anywhere. [alert admin]

Canon PowerShot ImageBrowser 6.0.2a (Mac OS X)
Won't run on MacPro with 10.5.1
I tried the update but could not get it to run at all. Hangs immediately while "searching." I let it run for an hour. Oh, well. [alert admin]

VueScan 8.4.31 (Mac OS X)
Good software, good developer response
VueSca is running very well for me on my Nikon LS 5000 ED. A corrupted prefs file gave me a little trouble. The reset paremeters command on the file menu fixed this. VueScan is fast and easy once you learn how to use the parameters. It previews and scans in one pass, I can tweak the image and save on-screen. The manual is a little sparse but is to-the-point. Plus, the developer has been very responsive. I have emailed him sseveral times and he has changed some code for my needs within hours. [alert admin]

TurboCAD 2D/3D 3.0 (Mac OS X)
I purchased, downloaded and installed TurboCAD v.2.0 SP1 (Build 657) about two weeks ago. I have been teaching myself to use it. Problems: Tools don't always operate as expected. The interface is not very Mac-like. Setting up a polygon and filling it turned out to be unusually complicated. Using the "Chain select" command, then the join command followed by color then fill pattern commands *in that order* produces a fill. Once you understand it, things seem easy; the first time was a bear. Documentation is very weak. Trial and error works faster. Good points: . It does work. It opens both binary (.dwg) and text (.dxf) autocad files, a very good thing. Some of the tools are easy and intuitive. I had a basic drawing done within about 3 hours of installing the program. With some patience I have been able to do everything I set out to do. For the money I feel pretty good about it. But then, this is not my day job. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 2.5 Build 3170.0 (Mac OS X)
I too have had the missing driver's error. I have asked for help and have gone to the Parallel forums without success. I slipstreamed Intel DMA drivers when I installed WinXP SP2. I thought that may be the problem. So, I reinstalled vanilla WinXP SP2 but saw no improvement. I have a MacPro. I am a pay-up customer of Parallels too. [alert admin]

Let me add that Med-Center ran much better after I eliminated the USB hub between my keyboard & my Mac. It still does not respond well to the number pad, though. The more I look at Med-Center the more I like it. Incredible value here: it is FREE for a solo practitioner!!!!!!!
