The Print Shop 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Frustrated

I inquired with Print Shop developers to know whether I could produce my own personnalized labels (European formats) with theirt software but got no reply. That leaves me with the feeling that aftersale (this case presale) info will not be easily available. A pity juding from the good comments the software has otherwise...Unless this changes, I wouldn't recommend them... [alert admin]

Nikon View 6.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Nikon View is a mess...

irrespective of the software ID. I still have 6.1.1 and it doesnot work (switches off in the middle of the lengthy transfer because "the card was ejected or the connection was interrupted". What I read here on 6.2.2(need to gave 6.2.1 to install 6.2.2, stupid registration rules, time wasted) has led me today to deinstall the Nikon view folder on my OS X disk, and use the card directly to transfer my Coolpix 3100 photos via a Smartdisk Reader (although I lose the EXIF data in the process). Further my other Nikon Coolpix 950 does not appear in the list of cameras with which Nikon View is claimed to function. A nice mess, Nikon! [alert admin]

Delete It 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Excellent...and scary!

I had a "Previous system folder" and isolated OS "root" items in my Thrash which refused to be deleted for a couple of days...whichever method I tried. "Delete it" made it but their warning to be careful in deleting stuff is somewhat scary...Recommended, but Handle with care! [alert admin]

SnapWeb 1.1 (Mac OS X)

An "how to" is indispensable

They may have conceived an excellent program, but why don't they "sell" it technically with a good "How to install" Readme: a) The folder disappears after installation and the first shutdown (only remains the Dock item if you thought about fixing it there). It's nowhere indicated this is normal. Also trying to install the folder in your applications folder fails: only an alias goes there which seems logical once you realize that the Dock item is the only thing that matters. b) Safari MUST be open when you fill in the licensing information and press the "check licence info" otherwise you're not registered at BrainTickling's database and the infamous "please register message" remains forever across your Pdfs, etc. Nothing's perfect: I now also had a Snapweb crash. Why? [alert admin]

Dantz Retrospect 5.1.167 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

What's the real upgrade price for the Mac RE 5.1?

Or is it a ripoff? This page indicates 129 dollars and the Dantz matrix <(http://www.dantz.com/en/upgrades/pricing_matrix.dtml>) indicates 59.95 USD (and so does Tidbits). In addition, after sales service is non-existent (one free call within the month following purchase) unless one pays. I'm seriously looking for a more reasonable solution [alert admin]

pearLabelizer 0.3 (Mac OS X)

Excellent piece of software

Set it to work straight away. It took some time but the results were worthwhile my efforts. It would be nice if one could save an address set independently (the same way one can save a label set format) [alert admin]

CDFinder 4.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Can I use iTunes with CDFinder?

I'm very much interested in the possibilities of CDFinder which I test-downloaded today (but did not yet use in fact) Two questions remain however: 1) Will CDFinder extract the data from the 4.1 version (the latest) of iTunes (thus avoiding my reinserting my 120 CDs for the second time in my Mac G4 Cube OS X 10.2.6) and 2) Will I have the opportunity to print out, for example, only the basic facts about everyone of these CDs (title, orchestra, composer) Clarifying this would help me decide in favour of using this (already) very complete piece of software (and pourchasing it) Thanks in advance [alert admin]

iVisit 2.6b7 (Mac OS 9)

Up to now,…

the program quits unexpectedly each time I open it, forcing me to delete the Prefs, and reinstall it. (not an isolated case) The developer seems not to care, although he has been advised by many users. A pity because otherwise it is quite good, [alert admin]

simple and great

Nor is it recognized by OS X 10.5 . This is also the case for some other applications.

Turning off ALL background processes -- CPU Hog

Here's the address of an uninstaller from Symantec. It's risky as it works in Terminal but it works. <http://symantec.atgnow.com/consumer/resultDisplay.do?gotoLink=3322&docType=1000&contextId=4899%3A3322.3736&clusterName=ConsumerCluster&contentId=5404814b-5c83-4cd7-a1e9-f403fcc855e6&responseId=ca5591d14505ac90%3Adcb03b%3A1073965edf3%3A4507&groupId=1&answerGroup=5&score=733&page=http%3A%2F%2Fservice1.symantec.com%2Fsupport%2Fnum.nsf%2Fpfdocs%2F2002110814042611&result=4&excerpt=Product%28s%29%3A+Norton+AntiVirus+10.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+AntiVirus+10.0+Mac+-+Enterprise%2C+Norton+AntiVirus+8.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+AntiVirus+8.0+Mac+-+Enterprise%2C+Norton+AntiVirus+9.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Personal+Firewall+2.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Personal+Firewall+3.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Privacy+Control+1.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Utilities+7.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Utilities+7.0+Mac+-+Enterprise%2C+Norton+Utilities+8.0+-+Mac%2C+Norton+Utilities+8.0+Mac+-+Enterprise&resultType=5000#>
