Yellow Dog Linux 5.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I love YDL 3.0 on my old 3400c PowerBook, but was not the biggest fan of 4.1 and switched to Ubuntu for a while, but once Yellow Dog Linux 4.1 came out I switched back and was happy as a clam. YDL 5.0.1 really seems more modern and a much better release. Linux is different and can be hard, but please be sure to use the forum, the mailing lists, and the online help. There is even a book you can buy from Terra Soft Solution! Give it a full 2 weeks to try it out using the numerous support options available and you too will most likely fall in love with this free OS called Yellow Dog Linux. Strong rumours say that most PowerPC Apple Macinstosh Computers will not be supported after Mac OS X 10.5, so this is the future for all PPC Mac owners. [alert admin]

Daylight Saving Time Fix 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I have an old clamshell iBook that runs Mac OS X 10.2.8 on it's Mac OS partition, and this updater worked for it. I am glad that I do not have to buy an upgrade to the OS anymore just to get the DST issue fixed! [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.4.4 (Mac OS X)
Ever since I upgraded, my files have stopped being in alphabetical order. I checked out that Finder alternative, Path Finder 4.0 that came out yesterday and things are in alphabetical order there, so I am guessing it is the Finder in Mac OS X 10.4.4. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.4.4 (Mac OS X)
I used software update and unfortunately, I have lost my menu bar. The time, Airport control, everything is gone! Can anyone suggest some troubleshooting on this? The update to Safari went into a folder other than the one I had it in and now it will not work either! [alert admin]

If you are not downloading the latest version, use the update feature. It updated mine to ß46. Definite improvements! This is even faster than Spotlight! [alert admin]

The best version of Yellow Dog Linux yet!
I am just saying rumors, and I, like you have no plans to switching to an Intel machine. I plan to stay with PPC and YDL makes that possible for the long run.

The best version of Yellow Dog Linux yet!
I said most PowerPC Macs, meaning which would be the G3 iMacs, iBooks, PowerMacs, PowerBooks etc. I am pretty sure that the newest G5s will be supported through Mac OS X 10.7. Early G3s can only update to 10.3, supposedly most if not all of the rest of the G3s will see 10.4 as the last update and after 10.5 G4s are likely to stop all being supported too. This has all been on Low…

Yes you just need to get used to a different operating system, they have a guide online if you need help. Linux can be very different and you should not expect it to be instantly easy. It usually takes 2 weeks to get used to a new OS no matter what. Especially if you do not know anything about it and do not read the documentation.

Why not use Fink for free (can also install KDE, GNOME, etc.)
Because it is faster and has a larger group of people maintaining these apps. It can also run on older Macs that the latest versions of X11 cannot.

I have the same issue, instead of the missle button being command-click, it is now option-click. In Firefox I used it to open pages ina new tab, but now it downloads them. FRUSTRATING!
