I couldn't agree more with this review. Appleworks database while it still works is a far superior database. Most databases for business or home-business use don't all the useless bells and whistles that Bento insists in putting on. Considering Filemaker is owned by Apple the smartest thing to do is to trash Bento and re-write Appleworks. Apple should also trash Numbers and Pages. The least Bento could do is import Appleworks database easily, just like Pages and Numbers open Applework documents, ... easy means just that ... easy.

I agree, and it is not getting any better. Every "upgrade" just adds more window dressing and skips the fundamental missing features like calculations, text styles, flexibility in positioning and sizing fields, printing labels of many kinds etc., that were in Appleworks many years ago. I'm not spending another dime on Bento until it becomes at least as capable as Appleworks.
