As far as I can tell WOT works by analyzing (if one can call it that) the number of links to a webpage (taking into account how many webpages link to the ones which link to your webpage). So you can already bump up your rating by putting ads on your page (which I do not), and basically any private site will be marked as suspicious. Not something I would call reliable.
