Just to clarify my post. Superduper is the best cloning soft out there. But it will copy a bad disk to a clean disk. That is why it is so good. It does what it says it will do. It will not optimize or rearrange files. It is a mirror copy.

iDefrag has many algorithims to defrag, optimize your files and/or metadata. If you want to erase all your drive and copy your files from scratch every time even when you need to defrag just a bunch of files, it is up to you to use a backup/restore utility for this purpose.
