Seriously, have you ever used a Mac? Your comments are so partial and subjective that I am afraid that their value is exactly zero.Tuesday, May 12 2009 @ 02:43 PM PDT

Two things:1. A combo update is not a "bug fix" or delta update. It will update any version from 10.5.0 thru 10.5.6 >TO> 10.5.7 (for ex.) That's a lot of changes in one file. There are advantages to the combo update method, but a delta is also available.
2. Any modern operating system REQUIRES broadband, whether it is marketed that way, or not. Windows more so than Mac. If that last sentence makes no sense, then your PC is likely riddled with malware.

I'm sorry guy, most of the world ISN'T on dialup. If you're in a country that has internet services, you'll have wired or wireless broadband available.Tuesday, May 12 2009 @ 03:00 PM PDT

Don't use the combo update if it's too big. Just use the Software Update feature. That works fine for me.Tuesday, May 12 2009 @ 04:20 PM PDT

Your claim that Windows is any better in regard to the size of updates is dead wrong. As an IT admin running Windows XP Pro, Vista and OS X, all operating systems require hefty downloads to bring them up to current patch levels. OS X actually requires the least updates in size while XP Pro revision "C" requires almost 5 GB! It's just the consequence of advancement in tech and the complexities of a modern OS. Just be happy that these companies are patching the bugs and security problems in their OS's.Tuesday, May 12 2009 @ 04:25 PM PDT

Who uses dial-up? Seriously, it's 2009. If you can afford two computers, you can afford broadband. And while you're whining about having to upgrade, are you still using a B&W TV with knobs? Are you still using a rotary phone?
Tech advances. Accept it.
